I am very disappointed with Amerigas. When my landlord found a better deal with a different propane company, nearly $3 less per gallon, Amerigas charged me $64.99 to pick up the tanks. The tanks were there when I moved in. And I had lived there for nearly 3 years by the time we made the change. Then they reimbursed me $0.30 less a gallon for the propane that I paid for but did not use. They were charging nearly $1.30 more per gallon then the state average at the time. When we tried to address it with them they made promises ... read more

We moved to Washington never having used propane or knowing anything about it. We falsely assumed that all companies charge relatively the same amount, similar to gasoline prices at gas stations. Over the course of the last 2 1/2 years, Amerigas has raised our per-gallon price every single month and charged many fees adding over $100 to our bill each month. We have since learned that the nearly $6 per gallon they are charging us is 3 x what other companies in the area charge and that none of the fees are real, required, or p... read more

Business response:

As with any customer, we have pricing options from GPP to Pre-Buy to help lower costs, but we were not contacted by Ms. Camery-Hoggart until she cancelled service. A review of her account shows she was charged our standard Hazmat and Fuel Recovery fees, totaling $16.60 at the time of her deliveries. Our fees are clearly outlined in our Terms and Conditions.

I had moved into Hemlock Farms over a year ago and was told my propane (Ameri Gas) would be $1.76 a gallon. I was running low on propane come November of last year and the truck pulled in pumped my propane with two cars sitting in the driveway not knocking on the door and took off leaving the receipt sitting on my doorstep. I read the the ticket and with out warning me jacked my price up to $2.67 a gallon. I was left holding a $980 bill. I then removed them from my services and have 40% left in the tank when I was in formed ... read more

Horrible business ethics, they treat their customers like garbage. They also never answer their phones and now the have been calling me and hanging up on me. It feels like I'm dealing with kids from middle school. They like to let customers run out of propane so they can charge a leak test fee

I have been overcharged by an additional $2.00-$2.50 gallon doubling my bill the last 3 tank fills. The bill has been adjusted 2 of the 3 times when I challenged the billing. The third time, the customer representative was rude and refused to even listen to me. I did not choose to use this company but ended up with them when my previously provider was purchased. I would never choose to work Amerigas again!

In May 2016, I purchased a 500 gallon underground tank, installed and filled by Amerigas out of Brooksville. The tank was filled once at the rate of $1.99 per gallon and a 2nd time for $2.17 per gallon. I called them to fill it again in March of 2018 and they sent me a bill for $4.20 per gallon! I called them on 3/21 and spoke with a woman who said that she could re-bill the invoice at $3.99 per gallon. That was the best she could do. Today, I went online to pay the bill and nothing as changed. So, I called again. This time,... read more

First of all, their prices are absolutely insane. We were taking a 5 Gallon Tank and filling it at U-Haul down the street for less per gallon than they wanted to charge us at purchasing 200 gallons at a time. We shopped other propane companies in our area and called them asking if they would at least come close to the other companies prices. They would say they were going to get a discount amount and call me back. Never receive a call. Called to have the tank picked up, asked if there were in fees. No, no fees. Took them ove... read more

Amerigas is the worst! First of all after purchasing a house in 2004 wherein the builder provided a list of propane companies that could be used Amerigas contended almost a year later that they owned the tank. I said there was nothing in my settlement paperwork that indicated that they owned the tank and they held us hostage to deliver gas on signing paperwork that they did own it even though they did not. Amerigas contended you want them to own it for maintenance and liability purposes, however, I truly believe it was so th... read more

Business response:

We can certainly provide Ms. Winship copies of the paperwork which proves AmeriGas’ ownership of the tank. If she would like this information we urge her to contact her local AmeriGas office. With regard to her running out of gas, Ms. Winship was in breach of contract. Once this situation was resolved, Ms. Winship received a delivery.

Terrible customer service. I do not recommend this company. We called last week for delivery and paid upfront. Today (22 Mar) we ran out of gas and now they are charging emergency service price to deliver- this also seems to be a pattern. This is about the 4th or 5th time this has happened in the last several years. We are so fed up we are going to lock this tank and then pay another company to install an above ground tank. If we ever move to another house with propane, Amerigas will be a deal breaker for buying. I despise t... read more

Business response:

Mr. Manos is a will call customer, meaning he is responsible to monitor his tank and place an order when the gauge reads 30%. Mr. Manos has run out of gas because he contacted us when he was below 30%. Our standard will call delivery timeframe is 7-10 business days. We have offered to put him on automatic delivery and he declined.
