This review is on the ORCHARD PARK NEW YORK LOCATION. THIS IS NOT A REFLECTION OF AVIS THE COMPANY. Avis themselves has been more then helpful and resolved my issue very quickly. How is it that this location is still in business? How is this place not getting reprimanded for the shotty vehicles and absolute embarrassment to the Avis name? I have always loved Avis. I rented a car in New Orleans, a few days ago, picked it up from Kenner, and returned as agreed with a full tank, filled a mile from the return facility - Credit card shows it. Avis did not give the receipt upon returning the car but said it will be emailed to me. Then, they charged me $88.91 for fueling. $31.20 Facility Charge, and $9.88 concession fee, etc... Total of $112.82 extra. AVIS - NEVER AGAIN. This is plain fraud and a shame for a company. So unethical, I will not use AVIS even if it is free. A shameful American c... read more

Avis is a scam! They are over booking rental car reservations and under delivering on staff and vehicles. Customers in the Savannah airport have had to wait in lines for up to five hours for the last several weeks. They had 3 to 4 customer service representatives behind the desk and one 80-year-old employee to clean and process the cars. Not only is this bad practice Services to reserve a vehicle and not receive it for over six hours but it should be illegal!

If I could give negative stars, I would. I reserved a car through Avis's website five weeks prior to international travel. I got several reminders, including the day before and the hour before my plane landed. Imagine my surprise when I got there and the guy at the counter informed me they could not honor my reservation. He had arranged for another rental company to fill the reservation, at the same price, with a lesser car. We were being overbooked by Online Travel Agencies, which instead of canceling their reservation we made sure to apologize and arrange for another rental company to accommodate this customer. I rented a car from Avis Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport in March of 2022 with the expectation from them that everything was fine when I returned it. Days later after my wife and I got home we notice a charge for $83.82 from Avis. I called and talked to customer service and was told that it was likely for not filling the gas tank which we had done before dropping it off. Avis rentals is a joke. I wish I could give negative stars. When I made my car reservation I was told by their website there would be no deposit. So I placed my reservation. Then I was told there would be a deposit of $250. Then I was told it had to be on a card because they don't take cash. Then I was told the deposit would be $300. Then when I went to pick up my rental, I was told my credit score was too low by 17 points. Requiring me to cancel. Then I was told that it would be five to seven business days for a refund. In Jan I rented a car from AVIS. Now more than 2 months later and 5 long phone calls as well as on line chat service I still have not received a refund for a double charge for a single reservation. I was told after each phone call that I would hear back from them after they reviewed the reason for the double charge. I have not received a single call back

We had to cancel our rentals in Hawaii about 45 days prior to our rental date due to a major health issue. That was in early December 2021 for a late January rental. We were told we would receive 100% refund except for $50 as a cancellation fee. We were told we would receive our refund in 10 business days. It has never showed up. We have called 8 (EIGHT) times to follow up. Each time, we have to go through the full story again and they "PROMISE" it will be issued within 10 business days. It's now March 15, 2022. Avis at DC Regan Airport (DCA) needs to check all vehicles tire air pressure before they pass to the next customer. on 03/11/2022 afternoon I picked my rental car, drove just 10 miles and see low tires air pressure warning sign. Took the car to the nearest shop and paid to fill all tires and check what else missing. All tires were below 24 psi. What if I hit the hwy and be far from inner city?
