I rented a vehicle at Tampa Airport on Apr. 15/22. When I was pulling out of the parking lot, the car display indicated a flat tire. I returned the vehicle & waited at the Avis counter in the garage area for 20 minutes to wait for the vehicle to be replaced. Once replaced, I proceeded to check out & was advised that the first vehicle was still showing in my name as well as the current vehicle I was driving. AVIS has been charging Fuel charges even when the car is returned with a full tank. I work for a company that uses AVIS or Budget for car rentals. My last rental was with AVIS and we are required by our company to return the car with a full tank so I always stop near the airport and fill up. I did this as usual and when I got my receipt I had a fuel charge on it. Come to find out AVIS has been doing this to many people in the large company I work for! Horrible experience from the 1.5 hour wait to just check in. No one to inspect the car which had bumper damage. Car was less than in good condition, not very clean, maybe a vacuum. The next day noticed gum on the seat of the car, guess the booster we got from them had gum on it. We did not eat or drink a thing in the car. Ended up getting charged $142 for it. Cannot reach customer service to discuss, finally they call back after over 30mins, end up getting hung up on. No call back so of course when we call back to square one... read more

Double charges you and can no longer find your reservation number so you can discuss the issue with them. Rented a car through ********* for Avis and when we went to pick up the car the lady told us they had a special and we could upgrade our car for a lesser price. I did mention we already paid for the 1st car and she said don't worry we would be credited back that amount but had to pay for the new car upfront. So we did pay for the new car and expected a refund on the other amount. This never happened and have went round... read more

Avis doesn't even deserve 1 star. I waited in line for over an hour and barely moved in line. I had a wedding to be at 3 hours after my reservation time and had to end up ubering to show up late to the wedding I was a groomsman in. When I called Avis to get a refund they told me there was nothing they could do about it and to show up earlier next time. I will never use Avis again.

I spoke to 2 different Avis reps to confirm there was a shuttle to Titusville from port-1 confirmed there was when I made the reservation then I called again before I left for vacation & the rep again confirmed there would be a shuttle at the port to take me to Titusville. After waiting 15 minutes for a shuttle after getting off cruise ship (4/23/22) I called Avis national phone number at 9:41 am. Beware - Prepaid means possible trouble! Me and my fellow runners planned to run a group race a year ahead, so booked a van for the event through Avis and prepaid with my credit card 6 month before. My credit card info was stolen during the time in between, so I received a replacement card with new numbers. That's where the trouble started. Horrible experience with Avis while on a family vacation. Reserved car well in advance and showed up to the check in desk at my confirmation time. The customer line was incredibly long and it was clear that something was wrong. One of the Avis employees announced that they did not have enough employees to have cars prepared for renters. I stood in line for 3 hours to reach the counter and talk to an employee. I was told that a car would be ready for me shortly and to have a seat. I rented a car from the Decatur, Il Avis rental at the airport that was filthy on the inside & out. The floor didn't have mats, there was dirt & whatever else food particles smashed in the floor. Food specs on the seat and in the cup holder. Glitter was across the back seats and it had a stinky smelling glade plug in the vent to attempt to hide the odor.
