We rented a car and returned it with a full tank of gas, having filled up just outside the airport. I checked in the car and was told everything looked good. After returning home, I saw a $200 fuel charge on my account and the receipt listed an empty tank (a complete lie). When I called the 800 number I was told I now have to submit a receipt to prove we paid for gas in order to have the fuel charge reversed. This was never told to us at pick up or drop off. My company makes all of my business reservations. They do not have access to my personal credit card information so they only use my corporate credit card issued to me to make reservations. Every reservation they make gets charged to my personal credit card. When I call to ask to have it changed (there are :90 min or more wait) they tell me the reservation was made with my personal card, which is impossible. I wish I could give negative stars. After booking a reservation months in advance, I waited in line at the Avis counter at ATL for longer than my flight time to get there (1.5 hrs). By the time I got to the counter with my two toddlers, there were no more cars in the category I requested. They did their best to accommodate but what is the point of a reservation if they're not actually going to reserve it? Avis is a corrupt and dysfunctional company. My interaction with them started with a long line at 1 am. Long lines happen, I get it. But when I finally got the counter at 3 am the attendant told us that our car was not ready. We were supposed to pick it up at 10 pm- yet it's not ready at 3 am. After saying that the car wasn't ready, the attendant proceeded to gaslight us for 45 minutes saying that the system was down. I rented a full-sized car for 10 days for a Yellowstone trip in early June 2022. Unfortunately, like thousands of others, I was trapped by the historical flooding at the end of my trip. The only road out of the town my hotel located was destroyed by the flooding. A bridge on the road was completely washed away and the restoration of the road to passable could take multiple weeks! Rented me a car with low tire tread. I would attach pictures but there is no way to do that. When I called to tell them about it they told me I was being charge for returning to a wrong location (resolved, they were wrong) and with no gas (not true it was filled up and I have a record to prove that). They offered to compensate me by refunding the incorrect gas charge!! Over one hour on the phone, and after asking for a supervisor was disconnected when they said hello.

We scheduled a trip to the northeast and used Avis as our car rental agency. Unfortunately, our flight was canceled 1 day prior to departure and the airline rescheduled our departure for 2 days later. This required us to call Avis and have them slip our reservation 2 days. LI rented a vehicle from AVIS at LAX and returned it at SFO. We had the car for 5 days and had an incredible trip traveling the Pacific Coast Highway! Unfortunately, my friend and I missed our flight and needed to rush to the airport to make our new flight. I always take the time to return cars in the shape they were delivered. This past week we rented a vehicle from Avis. Upon arriving at the airport to pick up our vehicle we were told the premium SUV we prepaid for was on "recall". We were also told that they tried to phone my husband to let us know. He had no missed calls from Avis or message.
