I was billed for two broken tail lights. When I rented the SUV, it was around 1am in the morning and I didn't notice anything wrong. The next morning, before we left for our trip, I noticed the left rear tail light was broken. I called to report this to Avis. Today is 2/7/22 and I receive a letter stating I owe $ for 2 broken tail lights. What a rip off. Luckily I still had the picture I took from December. I'm still in the process of resolving this issue. I shouldn't have to go through this, especially after reporting it.

Trying to rent an Uber car rental in Waterford, MI. Four times in past Four months i was told we don't have any available check back . Finally get a confirmation on getting one. Have the email and everything. Go to pick it up and they tell me "oh I just rented the last available one a few minutes ago". What a bunch of ****. Check your credit card statement after using Avis!! Week later I got surprise bill after I prepaid for rental and returned on time as always. Not the first time but refund always issued prompt in past for mistake their end always "extra day" fee seems to be applied multiple times Then I get a bill dated TWO months after a rental that I was billed for tire repair I didn't have anything to do with! This place Is defrauding their customers. I don't know how they are allowed to stay in business at mccarran airport. STAY AWAY if you value your money, time and sanity. I was given a run down truck with close to 50k on odometer. Bold, mismatched, under inflated tires. Dings everywhere. Alignment completely screwed up. I WILL NEVER USE AVIS AGAIN. THIS IS A WARNING TO ALL POTENTIAL AVIS CUSTOMERS. I shall be filing a complaint to BBB and state attorney regarding AVIs's dishonesty and unfair billing. I reserved the car for a month from 25 Jan to 24 Feb and paid online thinking that I will definitely get a refund should I return early. Avis and budget rent a car is a scam We used them in Chicago at the Ohaire rental terminal. They sent us a bill for $450 cleaning due to a smoke smell. There was no smoke smell when we picked up or dropped off. The car was parked in front of the hotel (valet) and neither of us smoke or can stand smoke. When we emailed and called to complain were told the location proveded "documentation" to prove the car smelled of smoke. Which it did not. Rented from Avis on October 17-2021. Cancelled reservation in advanced notice time and representative from Avis stated no charge would be on my credit card. Also demanded an email stating that before ending call. Get to MKE airport and saw that the rental place lights were on and open next to other rental companies and they said the Avis rep would be right back.
