Don't prepay. Their refund policy is a joke. They sent me an offer for 30% off but the rate was not discounted. 700 dollars for a mid size suv for 4 days is not a discount. I went to the chat who also provided no help at all. Only two stars since their website does work.

I rented a car from the AVIS at the Las Vegas airport 2/25 - 2/28/22. First, the employee at the rental counter was clearly sick. She proceeded to pull her mask down, sneeze, then wipe her nose with her hand and then used the same hand to give me my driver's license and the rental paper work back. Absolutely disgusting! I prepaid for a rental for pickup at the Luxor hotel in Las Vegas. I got there and the Avis desk was closed. I spent 2 hours trying to get ahold of someone and the made me walk to The Mandalay Bay Hotel. I am disabled and it was difficult to walk about a mile. I finally get a vehicle but they are charging me an additional $244.00 for picking up at a different location even though they had no cars at my confirmed pickup location. I wish I would have checked here before using Avis. Loooong story short: prepaid for a SUV. Showed up to office, where there were no signs and no employees. Was late picking up car because there was no staff. When staff showed up they said they did not have the SUV I reserved and would give me a Ford F150. That would not work for my family. The only other car they had was a Hyundai Accent. I am 5'10, my husband is 6'3 and our daughter is tall. The car did not even fit our luggage. I rented a car through Avis to do ****. I feel that **** and Avis are responsible for allowing this location to operate the way they do. The people working here are unprofessional. Holding full convos and gossiping... to the point where they stop assisting the customer to get their views out on some gossipy topic. I rented a car in July of 2021. Yesterday Feb25,2022 is went the John Glen International Airport upon arrival, ready to retrieve my rental reservation I was informed I was on the do not rent list. This was my first & last time renting from Avis. I made a reservation for a 4 day rental & prepaid the fees 10 days in advance of the scheduled pick up date of 02/17 at 9 am from Lake Forest, Ca. & was told I qualified for a free upgrade. I received several e-mails confirming my reservation in the days leading to the scheduled pick up date. I left one star but only because there's no option for zero stars. I booked through an online special. The special made it appear as though I would be paying $83/day for 6 days (approx. $500). Upon return, however, I was charged an additional $231 dollars. Part of that cost was fees that were showed up nowhere until I returned the car. Another $77 what they considered to be a full day was because I returned the car 90 min late due to a traffic jam in LA. That's right, I was charged for a full day for 90 minutes.
