They do not provide customers with all the info, it's borderline scammy. The associate informed us that we would NOT get charged for the day if the car was returned before 10a. Still charged even though we turned car in at 9a. They did not offer a partial refund nor were they willing to release the car back.

I scheduled my rental vehicle to be picked up at the Avis Car Rental in Morrow Georgia off of Southlake Parkway. Everything was smooth sailing at first. I get to the business with the help of my coworker. I was a little early which wasn't an issue since I checked in on the web. I rented a car from Avis in Fort Myers Fl on 10/28/20 without incident. When my credit card bill came in the mail, Avis had charged me an additional $165.67, Claiming that I had signed paperwork for an upgrade. I have a copy of my rental agreement clearly showing that I had received exactly the same vehicle for which I had reserved and paid. Deposit not refunded after 14 days even though car was returned on time and in perfect condition. Refund my money people, it is not yours to keep! Also unhappy with mandatory insurance charge that was declined by me but charged regardless. Make me think, once they have your credit card they behave like a little child that can go on a shopping spree with Mom's money.

In Aug 2021, my husband and I rented a standard car from Avis for our vacation in South Dakota. When we arrived in Rapid City airport, we waited TWO hours but our car was not available. The Avis rep felt bad for us and offered us a BMW, which was available, for no extra charge. She told us it had hail damage, but not to worry because ALL their cars had hail damage. We took the BMW. Avis was a horrible experience. The rental location was closed when we were to pick up car. Had a confirmation, sent us to two other locations for a car then doubled price at pick up. Again had confirmation and reserved price. Was told cost would be reimbursed, did not happen and no one at Avis will return phone calls. I'd pay more to avoid Avis next time.

On 1/6 I rented a silver Mitsubishi Outlander from the Avis location at 1018 n Germantown Pkwy, Cordova, TN with a return date of 1/10 for $118. Unfortunately I needed to extend an extra day so on 1/09 I tried the automated system and it confirmed my extension for an extra $51. I didn't see the changes on my profile so on 1/10 I called Avis Customer Service and the extended my rental to 1/10, and they confirmed I would only be charged an extra $51 I agreed to the extra charges. We rented a car from the Denver airport. Returned the vehicle in perfect condition, the guy at the airport did his inspection, he said, "All looks good, you are good to go, have a safe flight". We received a invoice in the mail from Avis Viking that there was $981.87 of damage done to the car and we are responsible for repairs. I rented a vehicle from Avis at Chicago O'Hare airport from 12/3/2021 to 12/6/2021. I returned the car and was told to just leave the keys in it. Weeks later (12/20/2021) I received an extra charge for $450.I have not received any explanation or notification for the reason of the charge. The car was returned in the same or better shape than when I received it. I have been on hold for a long time trying to call the company to receive a refund.
