I chose Avis as the company that we wanted to rent a 10-12 passenger van from since they were the only company in York County that had an available vehicle. On July 24, 2022, I booked the van AND was charged on my credit card. Fast forward 2 months later, right before our trip, we got a call from the local store saying that they do not have a vehicle available. My son in law rented a car to go to various colleges in CA. The rental was at AVIS at LAX. While at a college he lost his key. He immediately called AVIS for guidance and help. They had NO way to help! Seriously...no one else on earth ever lost a key with AVIS?!?! Nothing? He had a family member pick he and my grandson up from San Clemente. Hours passed!!!! Avis' mission and vision statement should be, "Hi, we're Avis and we like to steal your money." I prepaid to pick up a car at 10 a.m. in July 2022. Despite the center being empty, we were checked out at 10:50 a.m. and then had to wait for the vehicle for another half hour. That's because the agent who checked us out forgot to mention to the Avis employees monitoring the lot to bring out our rental car. Make sure to check your bank statement after you return a car here. I recently had to go take care of my elderly mother in Nebraska because she has cancer and Alzheimer's. I rented a car through priceline.com for an Avis rental car. The actually asked me if I wanted an upgrade, and I said "no". I don't need a bigger vehicle, as it was just me and my suitcase, and my mom once in awhile. A month later, I got a bill from my credit card for $800. They gave me a Toyota Camry. On what planet is a Camry an upgrade? I've been disputing it, but they say I signed for it.

WORST COMPANY EVER! SENT TOW TRUCK TO WRONG STATE ALL DAY NO HELP. CALLED 6 TIMES TO GET THE SAME TOW TRUCK COMPANY IN THE OTHER STATE. THEY HAVE IN MY OPINION THE LAZIEST EMPLOYEES ALL ACROSS THE BOARD. THEIR ANSWER: CALL A TOW TRUCK COMPANY AND UBER BACK HOME...A STATE AWAY ..AT OUR EXPENSE...THE BEST PART...THEY RENTED US A KIA SOL AND TOLD US TO USE THE PROVIDED CLUB! THE CAR BLEW OIL EVERYWHERE ON THE FREEWAY. WE DRIVE FOR UBER AND OUR COLLEAGUES WANT TO KNOW OUR EXPERIENCE...****!

Rented a Vehicle. I always capture a video of the vehicle to point out any damage. I returned the car 4 day later and got a notification of damage with a picture. i called to dispute. they would not take the video. i took a snapshot of the video and theyre excuse was that it is not time stamp. the problem now is that they will only receive a PDF or JPEg with time stamp. Good luck trying to charge me for something i didnt do and if i can help it, i will not rent from AVIS SEATAC again

Hands down the worst experience ever. We filed everything online ahead of time. After waiting 20 minutes in line to catch the bus from the airport to Avis. After getting to Avis we waited another 45 minutes in line to be given a spot number where our vehicle would be waiting for us with keys in it. We got to the spot and no car. So, we then proceeded to the booth located near where the vehicle should have been. The guy behind the counter said he didn't have a supervisor to speak with and I should get back in line for help. Please don't book here without carefully knowing what you're paying for. I've been an Avis preferred member for over 10 years, today I'm sadly to say I will no longer spend my money where I'm taking advantage of. My original rental agreement for total $253.33 it was a black woman short light skinned with broad shoulders working the counter at Avis airport. she didn't like the rate I had and decides to change my whole rental agreement to total 854.71 I instantly declined the agreement left the airport with out taking a car, l... read more
