We were charged over $500 after renting a car for two scuffs. Not scratches. Not dents. Scuffs. I tried dealing with their customer service and started a dispute. I was first told to call back in 7 days. Then I was told that I would be notified by email in 7-10 days. Nothing. Then I was told that it could take up to 30 days. When I called after 30 days, I was told that it can take longer. In the meantime, we have not received any communication from Avis. HORRIBLE experience with Avis. I called to book a rental and the guy Isaac entered all my information incorrectly. I was told I was going to be charged $345 for my rental tax fees and everything. After I called again to update my info and they told me my new total was an OUTRAGEOUS $700 dollars. After I explained what happened to the supervisor she offered no sympathy and no solutions after THEY made a mistake. DO NOT USE AVIS they offer nothing but head aches. Horrible. I rented a vehicle via the website a year in advance to make sure I had it for a trip I was planning. Two days before my trip, I get a phone call saying that they can not get me the vehicle and that I would have to get two cars instead. I explained that I was the only driver and the I had to have the vehicle that I rented. I was told that when I reserve a car that I am not guaranteed a vehicle. I will NEVER rent from them again. After being a preferred member for years, I have never been so dissatisfied. When you have a price that you agree to pay, they charge without knowing an additional $200 hold for absolutely nothing. When you call customer service is rude and will not help. All they say is it is am AVIS policy and no one can help. How os it legal to hold money on a person’s card for zero services rendered? No other rental car company has done this. Rented a car in Midland Texas and returned in Corpus Christi Texas the very next day.. has been 7 days and they are still holding the temporary hold.. When I called to speak to someone.. I was sent to their main cuatomer service...I was put on hold then the phone was set down.. noone ever picked the phone back up.. I could hear noise .. but noone spoke to me..

Avis was AWFUL! I rented a car at the Savannah (GA) Airport. It had not been cleaned and smelled like an ashtray. 5 miles into my ride the gas light went on and I had to pull over and FILL the tank. I've tried for 3 days to contact the location (AVIS customer service told me I had to take it up with the branch). Impossible to reach them by phone and all emails are bouncing back as undeliverable. WORST car rental experience ever....and the last one I'll have with Avis!

These ppl should not be in business. It is more than obvious that they have the worst customer service. Had my first experience with them this weekend and all cars stopped working. We're not able to replace or fix and now my money has not been returned

When I arrived to pick up the car, it was not ready so I gladly waited until they got it ready. Shortly after I was asked to come out and look at the car to identify any damages prior to me leaving. Whoever “detailed” the car clearly just sprayed water on it, threw an air freshener on the mirror, and that was it. With it being wet it was hard to identify all scratches, chips, cracks, and anything else I could find. FRAUD. The company uncharged me for an upgraded rental after I specifically declined an upgrade. According to the company customer service team, the rental clerk noted the $20 per day upgrade on my rental agreement indicating I had accepted an upgrade - when in reality he and I had a friendly conversation and I specifically told him my client would NOT accept an upgrade and that I would take the rental I selected.
