Asus use to be a good company to purchase computer products and accessories from. They are not the same Asus company anymore. I also sent in my motherboard and took pictures before I sent them it in the box. They complained there was damage to the board which is not true, and I sent them pictures verifying the response. Later they emailed me a hefty $500 price tag on repairs on motherboard that cost $199 on Newegg. I asked the customer service representative (named disclosed), was the price because of the labor and repairs d... read more
Favorite thing about ASUS is opting for alternatives and never dealing with them EVER again!!!
They sell faulty equipment that fails and then scam you into sending your product in so they can state it was damaged or the warranty is expired. I purchased a chromebook less than six months ago and it died with a full battery. They claimed it is out of warranty and refuse to return the device without payment.
Early in the new year, I purchased an Asus Rog Strix gaming laptop for $1500.00 cad. Within 2 months the track pad started acting erratically, to the point of being unusable. I purchased this machine solely for use with Vr, so a perfect track pad was not essential. However, things got worse. Suddenly, without warning, the wifi and bluetooth adapter would fail. One would vanish from the device manger, the other would signal a yellow warning light. I started the rma process, but found it confusing, and because of the pademic d... read more
i sent back a defective motherboard they sent me. they "lost" several of the components i sent them, damaged the board and claimed because there is physical damage its not covered by the warranty. i showed them pictures of the motherboard before i sent it to them, they replied "we cant prove that the picture you sent is the same board we have" even though the picture was of the board in the packaging before shipping. they are thieves pure and simple
I purchased a $2600 gaming laptop less than 6 months ago. Rog strix g731g the store which i collected the laptop from did turn it on for me to inspect but it was well lit and i was excited to have a new laptop after 7-8 years of my old reliable toshiba. I did not notice the rgb strip on the left side was not illuminating. I took it to the asus repair center which i have to drive 2 hours to get to, to be told i would beed to hand it over to them for atleast 5 days, as i was flying out if the country that night i could not do ... read more
I called into ASUS technical support because of difficulties with connecting the usb-c port to displayport on my monitor. ASUS support directed me to try installing a chipset driver and an nvidia driver and if that didn't work to factory restore the out of box settings. Boy was that a mistake. I tried the first two and they didn't work, so then I did the factory reset. It basically BRICKED my laptop. Their next solution, I pay them to fix it after they just gave me instructions that broke the machine!!!! I have to choose bet... read more
I bought a desktop PC from them, and 1.5 years later, I wanted to upgrade the PSU on it. I looked in the manual and the only entry is to call customer support. I did so, and after some ten minutes of repeating what I wanted the do, they told me they do not provide information on upgrading their machines. I think it's a rather lousy business practice, forcing users to buy a new PC instead of giving them the option to upgrade components. This will probably be the last computer I buy from them.
Wanted to charge me $1500 to replace the battery in my laptop. They claimed it was "customer induced damage" despite the ASUS website flat out stating that a battery may need replacing once every couple years due to normal stresses that deplete the battery life. They had my laptop for three weeks and didn't even look at it until I started sending emails to ASUS saying that I hadn't received any updates. They're an absolute **** and should never receive anyone's business.
