About this business

The serpentine queues outside this little pizzeria is a fair enough indication of it's popularity in the city. However, Apizza Scholls' fame goes far beyondPortland. This no non-sense pizzeria is frequently listed amongst the country's top pizza places and is a must-visit fixture when in the city. The restaurant's kitchen headed by owner Brian Spangler delights with his single-minded focus of crafting some of the best pizza pies. Best pizza I've had on the west coast. Better than anything I've had in NYC also. Definitely worth the long wait.

After years of hearing people rave about this place....NOT impressed. Good antipasti plate. I don't care what my husband says, woodfired pizza is not supposed to be black on the bottom...yuck!

This place transcends Foursquare tips. It is simply not possible to convey just how good this pizza is, or even suggest a pie that stands above the others. But order the margarita with truffle oil.

Burnt Pizza, No Service – We were referred to this place because we were in the area and told to get there before the line started piling up. The server took our order and that was it, I had to get up several times to get sugar, utensils, etc. Never again, the pizza tasted okay but I did not like how burnt it was, it wasn't just a little edge, the whole bottom was burn... read more

Lousy Pizza – I went there once and have never gone back. I don't understand why people wait for hours to go to this place. When I went you could only order one topping, which was a few years ago. We also asked if they could not cook the pizza as long so the crust wouldn't be burnt. No. So you get a lousy pizza with a burnt crust. There are so many better places to go for pizza in Portland or Vancouver.
