The serpentine queues outside this little pizzeria is a fair enough indication of it's popularity in the city. However, Apizza Scholls' fame goes far beyondPortland. This no non-sense pizzeria is frequently listed amongst the country's top pizza places and is a must-visit fixture when in the city. The restaurant's kitchen headed by owner Brian Spangler delights with his single-minded focus of crafting some of the best pizza pies. Choose from a delectable selection of house pies featuring classics like the Apizza Margherita a... read more

Amazing food and staff....The good reviews are true – I've been going to apizza scholls for quite some time and the one thing I can say about their pizza's are that they are ALWAYS consistant. I've seriously never eaten at a place that is as consistant is apizza scholls. It's just soooooo yummy!!! Yes you do have to wait especially on the wkn and if you're hungry it can be bothersome but when I go I expect to wait but know it will be worth the wait. It's a good thing b/c you know each and every pie is made to perfection and ... read more
Bad seating policy, nasty owner and beer that too expensive. This place can't be worth it! We waited an hour with a toddler and finally gave up. Thirty minutes into the wait, I inquired if we'd be getting the large table in the back that was sitting empty. I was told that they leave that table open for groups of 8 or more. I was a party of 6 and after befriending 2 other people on the waiting list to make a party of 8 they refused to give us the table - saying the policy doesn't work like that. Had we of walked in and put 8 ... read more
Traditional and simple pies sure to delight – Amazing Neapolitan style pies at very reasonable prices. I LOVE their crust, it's thin and crispy and chewy all at the same time. Delicious! They also have an interesting beer menu, and they make a Caesar salad how it should be.
Great Crust – Only been to Apizza Scholls once. 1.5 hour wait (and we got there at 4:45!!), that was after we were at the end of the initial waiting line on a Saturday evening. So we waited it out at BOG next door and had cocktails... that was the fun part. When we were finally seated the service was friendly and prompt enough. The pizza was decent. Honestly, the crust really was the best part. Their red sauce was lack luster. The house cured bacon was overly salty (and undercooked, kinda fatty and giggly - yuck!). I just wa... read more
The pizza best anywhere – Ok, short story: Pizza and salads are great but you have to wait awhile to get seated, so don't go hungry. Plan to wait about an hour and you will be good. The pizza is worth it (I had my doubts about the wait, but trust me).
THIS IS THE TEMPLE OF PIZZA – Like some of the other reviewers, I can't say enough good about this place. I love it!! Yes, you have to wait, yet somehow after having eaten the holy pies they make in that teeny kitchen, the waiting--the waiting--the waiting just makes the pizza experience, when it comes, all that more pleasurable. This is the best pizza I have eaten on the west coast. It feels like a grand experience to eat a pizza made by people who understand how refined and heavenly pizza can be. Is there anything better t... read more
Best Pizza We Have Ever Had!!! – My husband and I have lived on both coasts and have had our share of pizza. I cannot express how Apizza Scholls beats any pizza we have had before. We have stood in torrential downpours to enjoy this pizza with its perfect sauce and crispy crust. They recently opened up some more space next door but prepare to wait a bit in line, its worth it! A close second would be Pizzeria Mozza (Mario Batali) in Los Angeles.
love there pizza soooooooooo much – We really miss the pizza in scholls the small town outside of newberg it was the bet pizza i have ever eaten and my family agrees we only orderd to go becuase the small resteraunt in scholls was always so packed full......all the negitive reviews are just people that are really grumpy and have nothing better to do then to complain this pizza is worth the price and they must be good if they run out of dough concidering they make it themselfs........anyways we really miss the pizza in our sm... read more
Ratings weirdness – Unreal, people are saying "awesome pizza", then giving it one star. Anyone who has read about this place in advance should be forewarned about certain things. However, I do find the place entertaining and kid friendly, as long as we show up early.
Apizza Scholls has a 4.6 star rating with 2,210 reviews.
