Brought my lab Luna in yesterday. She raided her food bin and ate too much and was very bloated and in pain. Our vet was booked and they recommended this place. Prices are a steep but you kind of expect it with an emergency clinic. They wanted to keep Luna overnight on IV fluids. Luna doesn't do well in crates and will drool until she's sopping wet so I didn't like that option even though they said they could sedate her. They were so good with my dog Sadie. She had to stay overnight since she was so ill. They are very caring.
We didn't receive a good prognosis, but at least we got an answer to our cat's problems. Now we are at home keeping her as comfortable as possible. We appreciated the professionalism with which we were treated from all employees we interacted with (from reception, to CVTs and the doctors). The critical care doctor, Dr. Wehausen, kept us informed, was thorough, and was realistic about the diagnosis/prognosis. They did the best they could and that is all I could ask. They treat your little loved one like family!!! I felt like my cat Dewey was in the best of hands from the moment I stepped into the place. The vet and the techs were extremely comforting and provided a lot of helpful information !
RecommendedI am so impressed by and incredibly grateful for the level of care and compassion I received from the St. Paul clinic this past weekend. We had to say goodbye to our beloved lab, Colt, at just 8 years old, and everyone at AERC made a terrible situation a little better with their level of understanding and over-the-top care and compassion. When our 6 month old Black Lab mix, Khaleesi, was hit by a car, this animal hospital/clinic was a godsend! They immediately took her and started checking for injuries. During this time, they put us in our own private room and was given updates as to what they were doing. AERC did not do any expensive services without our permission to do so.
