I signed up for a standard membership on the evening of August 31st, 2022, making a local university recreation center my gym of choice. Signed up for a membership at $25 a month to join Planet Fitness, and required a 2 month commitment. I figured that was reasonable, Oct/Nov paid for, and I can give it a try. They charged me a FULL MONTH for 3 days of September, plus the month of October. And I'm paying the $25 a month for $10/month plan at PF. ABSOLUTELY FURIOUS.

Active & Fit is a complete scam. I joined because they listed Anytime Fitness as a participating fitness center but after signing up and paying, I found out that Anytime Fitness does not participate in their program and they refuse to issue a refund. Stay away from them. They are a scam.

I am having a major problem with ASH and how they conduct business. They have disability discriminatory practices with mail-only claim submissions (it's a hassle to get the fax number as an exception and it shouldn't be since we are in the 21st century). And, then they sent me an envelope marked "CLM 10" and American Specialty Health prominently displayed with and EOB inside. The envelope was delivered ripped open. Manager told me they would reimburse me so I could enroll again once I was physically able. Never refunded my money! COMPLETE SCAM! Not happy. Never went to the gym, physically unable to. After I explained to a manager that I was very sick and needed to pause enrollment/membership, she (***) advised me to work out through the online apps (knowing I was bedridden with Covid-19!!!).

Terrible reimbursement and lack of knowledge! Every time we call to speak with a rep, we ALWAYS get a different answer. We show proof of all the steps we have taken but still delay, delay, delay. Its as if they pick and choose who they deny and cover.

Repayment of claims is absolutely a disgrace. They don't pay out for an established patient exam - which in fact has to be done when a patient needs an MNR done- so it should in fact be THE INSURANCE'S responsibility to pay for that exam. What makes it worse is that they deny treatment for patients who are in tremendous amount of pain!! Why don't you come to the office and treat the patients and hear their complaints?? ASH practices the delay and deny method of insurance. This hurts both the practitioners and the patients as they are unable to provide adequate care or receive it. It creates a system in which practitioners are incentivized to rush through patient interactions and try to fit in as many patients per hours as possible. This business is an unnecessary third party to most patients being able to access care and should be legislated against.
