Treated like royalty – After reading many reviews, and finding out that this salon was rated very high, I decided to try Alexander. I am ecstatic about the outcome. The result is much better than I anticipated. My haircolor and cut is truly amazing and modern. Alexander was such a gentleman and Rob at the reception was so accommodating. This salon is extremely professional, clean, and overall a very inviting environment. I will let anyone know who is unhappy about their current stylist to try this salon.
High-end haircuts and styling in a refined and tranquil Outer Richmond location. – In Short A plush red carpet welcomes guests as they climb the narrow stairs to this serene second-floor salon. Beyond a small waiting area with a welcome desk and lemon yellow walls, British owner Alex and his small cadre of stylists cut, color and highlight in a room filled with natural light. The staff is known for expertly coiffing even the curliest of heads and for taking its time with each well-heeled client.
Very nice hair cut...but not worth it – alex gave me a great cut and blow out but when it came time to color my hair i trusted his opionon and he colered me a very dark brown (almost black) i was really bummed about the color and didnt like it all. Then payed $500 for something i didnt like. When you go tell them what you want!
Well worthwhile – My experience at Alexander G. salon the other day was unforgettable. The stylist was attentive friendly, and professional. I love my haricut; it is modern, classic and sexy. I feel great about my new look. I highly recommend this salon.
COULDN'T ASK FOR MORE – I have never had a stylist who has taken the time to listen to what I wanted and DID NOT want. This surely was not the case with Alex. I have been told that I have difficult hair, however my highlights/lowlights and cut were all great! My appointment with Alex was worth every cent.
I paid $225 to have color and highlights – That was a few days ago and I have since covered the highlights with an at-hoome haircolor. The highlights only went down a few inches from my scalp (I have long hair) and the color was all wrong for my skin tone. I have a feeling the good reviews on city search might be left by the salons themselves? Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel I wasted my money. And yes, I saw the person that is the most recommended on this site (Alex).
Alex gives an excellent haircut – Alex does a fabulous job on my very curly hair. Other stylists in the past have used a razor to thin out my hair and have nearly ruined it, turning it to frizz. Alex knew exactly how to cut and style my hair and now my curls are easy to manage and actually form ringlets. He's so wonderful, I even sent my Mom and she loves her cut!
Mimi! – I just got a hair cut from MIMI, and she's great! I came in 40 minutes early was taken care of right away. She took a lot of time, washing, cutting, and blow drying my hair. Unlike other salons I've been to, she made sure my layers were symmetrical. She also offered suggestions for my hair she felt would look better on my face, and it was perfect! sloppy and inconsistent – The first haircut by Alex was excellent, BUT the three haircuts that followed were really bad, not at all what I need for my face shape. He seemed impatient and distracted the last three times I went, so the workmanship was sloppy. I think it's just a problem with consistency, but needless to say, I'm not going back. It's too bad, because I was so excited after the first haircut, but the price is far too high if I can't rely on the results.
