Each highlighting and haircut appointment is given two hours. I may spend more time on highlighting than haircutting, especially since my assistant may blowdry. Sometimes it is the reverse (more time is spent on cutting). It is understandable that you feel a disproportionate amount of time was spent on the highlighting part. Heaven by the ocean – I went to the Alexander g. salon recently because two different friends recommended this place to me. Plus I read about this salon in a fashion mag. I saw Jen for highlights, haircut and a glaze. I am extremely happy with the outcome and will continue to go back. My fiancee said my hair looked beautiful and I hadn't told him I went to a salon that day. Loved the atmosphere here and I am definitely addicted to the glazes here now too. Gives that extra WOW that everyone seems to notice.
Very disappointing experience...for that kind of money I was really surprised – I made my apt. based on reviews from citysearch. However, from the moment I walked in I was disappointed. The music was super loud and quite obnoxious and the place was empty. The decor inside was nice though and my stylist was waiting for me. best, most fun haircut -- EVER! – Becca gave me an amazing, super-fun haircut. It's only been a day and I've already recieved a dozen compliments. The atmosphere there is extremely relaxing and everyone is very friendly and attentive. I would certainly recommend going there -- and seeing Becca in particularly! Thanks a bunch!!
Color, cuts, blowdrys and more! – Love this place. A true delight. Very nice people work here. Attentive to every need and I have quite a few :) I've been here about 20 times or so and had service ranging from cuts, color blowdrys, a live enzyme treatment, etc always accompanied by my cup of tea. It's so relaxing. My friend waits about an hour to even get her haircut started at a different salon so I think she'll be converting to Alexander G. soon. Good decision! A+ work! – Love this salon. Alex is amazing--a true Brit hairstylist that knows his color/haircuts inside out. The stylists that work for him are very nice too and seem very genuine. I really like coming here. I've been to way too many places that keep you waiting an hour before your cut and you end up in that salon for about 4 hours! If time is precious to you but you want excellent work done on your hair where you feel good when you look in the mirror when you get home, this is the place.
Becareful if you're doing both Color and Cut! – I've been doing my color with Alexander and it's been good, on the pricy side though. This time I decided to cut my hair. BAD IDEA! After my color, he had another client waiting for him. He spend 2 minutes on cutting my hair. At the time, I thought maybe he's just that good, it doesn't look that bad. Outstanding Experience!!!!! – I have been going to Alexander G for the past four years and every time I go it just gets better. The owner of the salon, Alex is INCREDIBLY talented and creative. I have changed my hair style and color numerous times and every time is a complete smash. The entire staff is also incredibly friendly and helpful. Excellence overall – Excellent service. Excellent staff. Excellent work on hair. Inviting environment. Always more than pleased with the results. What more can one want. No chaos and it's nice to deal with people who know exactly what they're doing. And the price fits the experience and expertise. (I'm not interested in salons that keep you there for 4 hours as they pass you around and talk about themselves.) This place is serious about what they do and it shows.
