This company send reps out for commission so the will lie to sale you anything and once you have been suckered into a commitment they won't let you out I'm 66 years old and I feel I have been lied to and robbed

I cancelled my mothers service because she no longer lives in that home. It took me over an hour to do this. After canceling, ADT has continued to charge my mothers bank account.

Totally agree. I am on hold right now with ADT after being transferred 4 times today alone. I am calling because a month ago I went thru this after they emailed to inform me they were raising my contracted rate. When I called to say "no i dont agree to that" it took HOURS but finally I was told they had reverted to my contracted rate. Cut to a couple months later and they are continuing to charge me the increased amount. About 3 weeks prior, I called ADT to let them know we were moving. I wanted to take our equipment (upgraded in Jan 2022, which we were still paying for). I was told we cannot take our equipment, because it's "old" and coded to our old house. I was told, however, that because we are longtime customers, if we do continue with ADT at our new house, the remainder if what we owed would be waived. ADT ***** SYSTEMS. I HAD MY FIRST ISSUE REGARDING THE ***** NOT WORKING PROPERLY...WITHIN THE FIRST 20 DAYS.THEY DID SEND A TECHNICIAN OUT TO RESOLVE THE ISSUES ( TRIED TO **** ME $400 ) HOWEVER I WAS IN THE EXCEPTABLE TIME PERIOD THAT 'DID NOT REQUIRE ME TO PAY FOR 'THE TECHNICIAN SERVICING THEIR 'FAULTY EQUIPMENT'. This company - the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. The "service reps" are rude and condescending. While trying to get help via the 800 number, I was transferred to 3 different reps. None of them knew how to help me, so kept transferring. Which I suspect is their way of dealing with a situation they either don't know how to do or don't wish to do. I had ADT Services in a rental in Charlotte, NC - no issues except that they insist you BUY their equipment. I bought a home in Mooresville, NC and moved my ADT - and had to buy THEIR EQUIPMENT again. I signed a contract - I was told it was a "2-year contract", which would've ended in August of 2022. I had COVID complications and a near-death illness, resulting in partial paralysis and missing 5 months of work. Most of my creditors/service providers worked with me - including my mortgage company. I’ve been a loyal customer for 10 years. My monthly payment went up almost every year After several unsuccessful attempts to try to lower my monthly charges, I decided to cancel my service. November 1 through November 15 I have called several times unable to get anyone to answer the cancellation department (I was on hold for more than 1 1/2 hours each time) I was able to chat with an ADT customer rep who advised me that calling the cancellation department is my only option of canceling my account .What I found very strange i... read more
