ADT makes canceling & paying your final bill extremely difficult. The customer service process is maddening. Its constant repeating yourself & being transferred to different departments. Its nothing worse than wanting to be completely done with a company for them to drag out the process. To add insult to injury when you text chat with the reps even when you ask for all of your charges including the last month bill & early cancellation fees you still get the run around. ADT is a ****. Should be 0 Stars. They will not accept my cancellation. I cancelled in August, 2022 and they keep calling me and saying I did not cancel. When I try to cancel again they transfer me and I am on hold for 55 minutes, then when I say I want to cancel they transfer again. Then they say it is a 15 minute cancellation survey. Then they still don't cancel the service.The BBB should stop ADT. They are *******people ***.
The worst customer service ever, I have my home alarm system and now they are part of my solar system since they bought out Sun Pro. We have error messages on our alarm panel and no one would ever answer the phone, my husband had to get on the internet to try and fix it, so much for monitoring. Fixing to change!!! On Dec 2, 2022 we terminated our contract with ADT Security Systems. We were told we needed to send a letter terminating our agreement which we did. We received a bill for $49.54 which we paid under duress as they said they had not received our letter. We sent a registered letter in January which they received. We received another bill for $49.54 which we ignored thinking it wasn't due. "SAVE YOUR MONEY ADT IS NOT TRUSTWORTHY'!I have spoken to several representatives at ADT complaint department. One time I thought I was getting somewhere however, that was dream. I had camara's installed during thanksgiving week in November 2021. If I could give them 0 stars I Would.. I bought a camera..recording equipment and a monitor from them.. they do NOT provide monitoring for me.. I was told once my equipment was paid for.. I no longer had to pay anything.. they are harassing me on a daily basis when I canceled their service that is only for a technician coming out if I need one.. I dont need and have never needed a technician but am still being charged.. worse company ever.. DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF DEALING WITH THEM ON ANY LEVEL..
Unethical Business Practices - I do not advise doing business with this company. There is nothing in the contract regarding closing a business and being able to terminate the service. Instead they charge you 90% of the cost of the contract. If you still have 24 months to go, you pay 90% of that amount. I was on the phone with customer support for 90 minutes (65 of which I was on hold) arguing my point. I will definitely be seeking restitution with the BBB at the end of this.
It's been an awful experience. The person who installed my system told me all sorts of things about saving me money due to reusing my existing system and that he had everything good-to-go. The next day an alarm went off at 3:30am due to a low battery. He was supposed to update the battery and never did. Had to wait a week for a new one to be sent and then they told me I had to install it myself. This is the dirtiest low down scheme out there. Somehow swindled me into a three year contract and theres no getting out. They should be ashamed of themselves.
