My alarm service was transferred to ADT without notice from NorthStar. I sold my home and move from the residence. ADT charge me a contract termination fee of $398 for a contract I didn't sign with them.
I had a new ADT alarm service installed. I thought it would make me feel safer. Well, it has to work to feel safe. I started having issues with my sensors within a couple of months from install. I replaced three of the batteries myself as they said low battery. I spoke to someone at ADT who said the batteries should not need to be replaced that soon. After multiple requests to cancel by service, ADT continues to charge by bank account. No replies to requests.
I recently discovered that a window was not covered by our ADT security installation. The window was about two feet square, a size which most people could use to gain access to the house. When my wife called ADT to have a sensor added so that it could be included in the installation, the rep referred to our contract as if there would be something in there about leaving a window unguarded. ADT system has not work correctly for over two years. I asked them to please come out and fix my issues, ADT service representatives have hung up on me not once but twice! I can't get out of this horrible service unless I am willing to pay out the rest of the three year contract. I have given them $1,200 already for a service I can't use and they want another $600 to cancel. Please people listen to my warning, DO NOT USE ADT!!!!!
I cannot rate any lower so here we are. First I was sold on the system and told that if I wanted to cancel I could within 3 days. That did not happen because no one answered my call so I had to stick to a 3 year contract. My contract was due on Oct/22, I called to cancel and everything was done, I asked where I had to drop equipment and they said I did not have to. Worst company you can imagine. Just take money when they think they feel like it.
HORRIBLE NO GOOD COMPANY! RUN - Don't walk away from this company. They will make it almost impossible for you to cancel and bill you while they hold the process up. It makes my skin crawl how creepy this company is and how they do business. AND, forget about getting customer service on the line - I've yet to have a call for less than a 30 minute wait time all the way up to a 75 minute wait time. Horrible company!!
