I just paid $207 in order for ADT to replace a carbon monoxide detector that had aged-out in my existing ADT security system. Every person that I reached y phone at ADT gave me a different story about whether I needed to pay the $207, if they would credit the fee, or why the technician visit was a new installation or a service visit. In the end I gave up and paid the $207, as I could not set the alarm in my system until the carbon monoxide detector was replaced. Worst possible service - I feel cheated to have to award a 1 rather than a negative number. We were with ADT for 16 years. In that period, we had apparently paid off the equipment charge in the first 3 years or so but for the remaining 13 years, they kept billing and because we didn't bother with the bill, they never stopped taking our money for equipment already fully paid and which are outdated. I have been a customer of **********************'s for over 15 years. Last year, I went through cancer and moved. ADT said my equipment would be free and came and did the setup at my new place. I verified all my information was correct on the app and online. However, they never updated my address in their system and, while my office phone was not showing anywhere online or in the app, they called it for all alarms. I made the mistake of looking into ADT for a business. Not only have they called me incessantly, but attempts to ask them not to call me have been met with hangups from a *******, ** number, sarcasm, snippiness, wrong phone numbers that tried to offer me a $100 voucher (*****) that were clearly bogus, and refusal to be connected to the corporate headquarters customer service or leadership where an operator tried to push herself off as "escalations." I think this is the biggest mistake I ever made! They didnt install it right the first time and charged me to come and fix it now the alarm away will not work and still they want to charge me to come and fix their problem I will never ever on ADT again in a while. I recommend it to anyone and I wish someone could help me get the stuff out of my house.

I had a problem with the monitor alarming because the battery was low. I called ADT about the issue, and they told me I could purchase a battery with them or go to amazon. I purchased one with Amazon. the problem wasn't solved, so I returned the battery. I did this twice. I called again and stated I was having the same issue. I suggested some one come out to check the system. they said it would be $55.00. I told my Husband and he spoked to them. they agree they would send someone out for $60.00. Use some other company. ADT gives you the run around with multiple transfers to cancel their service after verifying account. Had is 8yrs and don't use it. They need a class action lawsuit.

If I could give less stars, I would. I am unable to cancel my service. They use a phone system where they keep you in the dark, on hold, so long you stay. They do not reply to any customer concerns. I have been beyond disappointed in this company. They have not lived up to the promise to provide a secure system for my family. If I could permanently discontinue my service today, I would happily.

If there was a lower rating than 1 star, I would give it. We've been trying to cancel our contract for 3 months. The first month I was put in line to speak with accounting & was on hold for 25 minutes, then the call was canceled on their part of the line. Last month, I wrote on the bill that we were canceling our service. We received another bill for 2 months. I called yesterday & was told you could only cancel after speaking with someone from accounting. Putting it in writing was not sufficient. So, I was put on hold with a... read more
