There seems to be a pattern. My review is the same as others. They automatically place you in a 5-year contract. They don't verbally state that it is a five-year contract and that you will have to pay an astronomical fee if you don't stay in the home. They also fail to state that the system is attached to the house like any appliance. They don't come and take it back and you can't take it with you. You just have to leave it - even if the new owners don't want it. You have to continue paying it off (and it's in the thousands)... read more

This company and employees are lying crooks. I canceled my account because I went out of business and they continue to bill me, and tell me that I couldn't provide my password which is a straight lie. The agent spoke very poor English. Today I'm 45 minutes and 4 different agents just trying to get the last bill canceled. I don't understand how an employee can look at themselves in the mirror. Horrible company, I go bankrupt and they steal $53.66 from me.

Ive had ADT for 3 + years my contract is over Ive tried to terminate my contract for 2.5 months. Ive been on hold for 40 plus minutes each time and had to answer questions for 15 minutes at a time. I just received a bill for next month I said I disconnected service but they havent yet again for 3 months Im trying again on the phone with a manager. I also had a false alarm I was unaware of my neighbors said police arrived an hour later and they tried to charge me a $300 fee!! Completely unprofessional

Had to keep replacing batteries for their equipment atleast once a year and they are quite costly. I refused to pay them until the contract ended because the equipment was not working properly, and I was tired of having to call them to deal with it. I was making 50$ payments to them either once a week or biweekly, making a payment last Wednesday only to find out by reading my spam emails to find they sent it to Transworld collections. Worst service provider for security systems they do not pick up calls and hang up on you for serious matter do it has been the worst experience ever to buy a product from the company that is not trustworthy.

Moved from my home & called to cancel the services, It took 4 hour long calls on hold before I got a human to handle my request. They told me I had a remaining balance on my contract & that if I started a new contact at the new location they would wave the remaining balance. I agreed to do this only because the amount would be less per month. After I was burglarized in La Jolla, I installed a security system with ADT with glass sensors, movement sensors all over the house. Burglars came back 3 months later and after braking the glass door they came in they walked the entire length of the house until they got through the main bedroom and no alarm went off until the burglar was already inside the main closet. ADT is NOT taking responsibility for the failure of their work. There are other Security System companies. I suggest when looking for one to shop around.

ADT is a vulture business. They spent an hour and a half bouncing me between representatives and trying repeatedly to sell me more products (all with contracts) rather than actually comply with my request to close two long-standing and never defaulted accounts (that have not been used since installed, aside from the first few months they were thought needed). ADT is the worse security system company. I have contacted them to cancel my service 5 times and each time I had to wait for over 35 minutes and the agents lied and said they would cancel or that I was already cancelled and continue to bill me. I have also tried to cancel online and via chat and they won't do it there, so they are basically creating ways via their process to hold the customer hostage.
