I would actually not even give them one star!!! I had no service for a month before they let me know there was a problem at which point I asked them to cancel the service and was given the run around. I spent hours on the phone trying to handle this finally it was supposed to be cancelled. A few weeks later I received a bill for another month of service for which at this point I had not had service for 2 months that I had paid for and I requested a refund for the time in which they did not provide service. After reaching the expiration of my contract, I called to cancel services, and was provided verbal verification of this. A month later, I receive an automated notification from ADT that I am still being billed. After an hour on their online chat, the problem was still not resolved. As you can see by their deplorable scor here on BBB, they are quite the scam artists. AVOID DOING BUSINESS with this company.
This company is BEGGING for a class action suit. Deceptive business practices. We were TOLD that the monitoring contract was a year, but it was three. They have you sign the contract on a tiny little digital pad and expect you to read the contract on it. I didn’t receive a copy until after my signature. Warranties are not clearly listed. Only found out that the cameras I bought had a 3-month warranty (the rest of the system is a year) when I called to report that they weren’t functioning as they were sold to me. Poor customer service. Buyer beware. They are quick to take your money buy when you are trying to cancel your service they pass you around put you on hold and don't follow through. I called on June 7th to cancel my service, they said I need to answer a few questions and it will take 5-10 minutes, i was working and didn't have time for there questions and asked That they just cancel the service. ADT's customer service is horrible. While the technology of their home monitoring and security system has intermittent bugs, but biggest issue is their inability to hear or address this customer's needs. I know you may think, "The guy writing this review is just having a bad day" or "The only reviews that make it onto the web are bad reviews... I am sure it cannot be as bad as all that". It is. THIS BUSINESS IS SICKENING! THE DONT TREAT THERE EMPLOYEES IGHT AND THEY TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS LIKE SHIT! I JUST ADDED ONE SENSOR ON TO MY ACCOUNT AND ENDED UP IN A FREAKING 3 YEAR CONTRACT. THIS COMPANY IS DECEITFUL AND MISLEADING WITH THEIR CX AND EMPLOYESS AS WELL.
Be careful what you sign up for. Better yet avoid ADT at all costs. On Sunday evening June 25, 2023, our alarm control panel died without warning. We called +1-800-XXX-2727 per the ADT Control app support number at around 9PM PT, only to be told by the telebot that we called outside business hours, before abruptly hanging up!My wife finds another number on the adt.com website that says 24/7 support at +1-XXX-XXX-3640. I have called to cancel my service with ADT. If I wanted to purchase or reactivate my system, they would have immediately helped me. However, because Im trying to cancel my service they have had me on hold and will not answer the cancellation call. On multiple occasions I have asked to speak with a supervisor and the agent will say theyre not hearing me and hang up the phone. ADT is a scam! They lie to you and then tell you that you are in a contract with them and it would cost 75% off your total to get out. Their equipment has never worked! Crap! Please run, don't walk from this scam!
