AVOID ADT AT ALL COSTS! There system is full of bugs, I have had nothing but problem the entire time I have has this system and their customer support is horrible. I would give them no stars if the system would let me.When we moved we tried to cancel the service at the old house and transfer it to the new house. I was never cancelled and needless to say we've been paying for service in two houses. 20 YRS WITH ADT!!!Going on 10 yrs with ADT at my current home and had them for about 10 in our past home. System worked fine so didn't need much help.....until one of the glass-break sensors went out. I needed to move, and ADT told me they could cancel my current contract and replace with a new one for the new address. Literally lied.
Had adt for over 10 years . We are moving so I wanted to cancel service . Call the 800 number and was told that hold time was 50 minutes to cancel after talking to a representative. Waited 10 minutes and hung up. Tried again a week later . Got thru within 10 minutes but after giving the representative all details I was out on hold for over 10 minutes while he worked on the cancelation. (Supposedly) . ADT has been an absolute nightmare to work with. The rep came out and told me the different options they could provide me with. The lease where I live and want to install the system is only a year, so I didn't want to be locked into ADT's 3-year contract. The rep told me the alternative was I could buy the equipment up front ($1000) and could install it myself. Very poor customer service. I have tried to cancel my monitoring service for 3 days now. When I call customer service to cancel the contract, I am asked a few questions and then transferred to a different department. The first time I was on hold for 20 minutes, the second time, 24 minutes, the third time 43 minutes. ADT sent a technician to I stall additional equipment at my home. The smart lock was inoperable. The technician stated he ordered another one and it would only take a day or two to receive and have installed. I allowed the inoperable lock to remain since it would be replaced the next day. I ordered the service 3 weeks ago. Upon installation my alarm console went off 3 days in a row without being set. My CO2 monitor went off for 9 days straight 3 times a day. My new doorbell took 7 days to work correctly. I've called to make my complaints to ADT but all they said was I'm sorry your having issues with your service never offered to fix anything.
