Impossible to cancel contract!The reason for cancelation is simply that we are not using the service.I rarely give a 1 star review but ADT is an exception. It is impossible to close your account. The cancelation department is so busy that the minimum wait is over 1 hour. I tried to cancel via chat but they could only refer me back to the automated phone system (ADT 800 mumber) options #6, #3. They act like there are helping everyone but they are not told multiple times that I wanted to get a quote only scheduled me was only going to pay a low fee and come to find out its more then that and not what I wanted at all cancelled everything not again ADT not happening again!!!

Their monitoring might be OK, but their customer service is nil. I have been on-hold for over an hour this morning to try to resolve my issue. Finally gave up when the battery in my cell phone died (was fully charged when I started). If you want nothing done after your service is setup, they'll do fine. Just be aware that they will NEVER let you cancel.

Have tried for 3 months to cancel the service we have had for years and it is impossible!!!Whenever you call you get transferred numerous times, placed on hold for over an hour and then disconnected.Have tries via email and received the number for cancellations only to get the same runaround and interminable hold!!!

I called in on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at 10:30 AM and spoke to a sales representative. I signed up as a new customer, and they had a tech out to do the fresh install the same day around 12:30 PM. I was able to finance the equipment. I felt like she talked me out of purchasing window sensors. About a week later, after the installation, I called back and spoke to a sales representative, and I talked to her about what was going on and that I wanted to add window sensors. I'm not too sure which 3rd party company sold me on adt. So I'm reviewing it here anyways. Doorbell cam goes off randomly. Regardless of sensitivity. It does not record people coming up to the door. Aka delivery personnel. It only records the breeze. ** had my friend walk past the camera and walk into the house before I even knew he was anywhere close by. The window sensor goes off randomly if it gets touched or bumped. I was in a rush to go pick my kid up from school and the lady wouldn't leave without me signing things. So... read more

If you believe in coincidence, don't bother reading the following.I have been with ADT for 14 years. I bought a house two years ago and transferred my service to my new house and all has worked for the two years. They recently sent me an email stating that my bill will increase the next month. My original contract with them states that if they ever intend to increase my monthly bill, I can disagree and if I do, they cannot make the increase. Still paying on a 5 year contract I dont remember signing - for which ADT cannot provide documentation and for which I received no documentation at time of service in 2019. I was in the house for only 5 months!! There has been no recourse for cancelling the contract so Ive paid thousands of dollars over all these years for a system I only had access to for 5 months. Terrible business practice. Steer clear.

I received the absolute worse service from ADT. Sadly, this wasn't the first time. My cameras have been down for a week now. My appt was rescheduled for the wrong time.
