Canceling ADT after 11 years. Youre given the run around that it takes 30 days because they have to notify *************** and police department. Sold my house and closing will come before they cancel service. Sent to an account manager with a 60 minute wait time. However, they can cancel the service remotely. Sounds like a scam. Will never use them again and will discourage anyone from using them!!!!
We have been calling and trying to cancel our service since June 2023 and they are still trying to collect from us. We called yet again and were told someone on their end forgot to hit cancel. We have had to try and do this every month since. When they find out we want to cancel we are put on a very long hold. Last one I timed was 40+minutes. ADT set up my 84 year old father on a 5 year (60 month) contract. He paid $3060 for the equipment, and $87 per month for monitoring services. My father after 20 months, had to move to a nursing home. ADT upon my call, cancelled the service, the equipment (cameras, monitors) that my dad paid for had to remain in the home we have up for sale. ADT would not offer a buy back or reimbursement. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS! They expect you to hold to your contract and pay if you cancel early, yet they dont fulfill to their obligations so the contract should be null and void! I attempted to receive service for an issue with my system and was told I would be contacted by a technician and I was never contacted. No one has time to call back and wait for an hour to talk to someone and get it resolved. Trying to cancel a contract after three years has been a very negative experience. I was connected to 7 different cancellation agents who all hung up on me half way through the call after waiting 30 minutes each time for a new call back. After the final agent was able to cancel my upcoming service (I paid in advance for the full year's service) I was given a confirmation number and told I would be cancelled in September. We trusted Dish so when our Dish svc man recommended ADT we signed up. We are in our 80's and I feel that the ADT system took advantage of our age and willingness to trust people. System was set up badly, No copy of contract. Told we had 60 days to cancel, actually it is 3days. Calling customer service is a 2-3 hour job, but they won't reallly do anything except give you another phone number which has a long wait time. I would be ashamed to work for a company that treated customers like that.
Ive had ADT for 4 and a half years. Ive had numerous issues especially with the pulse app not connecting to my system. Which is a major issue considering thats how I can monitor, arm, disarm my system away from home. As well as unlocking and locking my front door. Customer ******************** if awful, the good news is you can get someone to answer our call, the bad news is depending on who you speak with you don't get the same communication. The relocated my services to a new residence and it took 2 weeks and multiple phone calls for them to credit back a cancel services fee on my account. No stars, I have only had our security system for a few months and it has been nothing but issues. The first time our cameras were installed they worked for about two/three weeks then all of the sudden they started to loose connection, randomly shut off or say low battery when they are hardwired cameras that do not require charging, I called and called and nothing was fixed, the video calls did nothing for me, then a secondary tech came out he told me the first guy who installed my system used wires that were too small plus ... read more
