After being a loyal customer for 5 years and 8 months, I called to request two home alarm key fobs. On Sept 13,2020, I got into a 3 years contract with ADT. I called them 3 months later to cancel my services, because their service sucked . I was told 1 had to pay a total of over $3000 to cancel this contract because I signed a 3 years agreement. Now today its been 3 years so I called to have the service cancelled. I just cancelled my monitoring system with ADT. Little did I know that after paying for the equipment when it was installed, it will no longer be usable if I cancel the monitoring portion of the contract. You are not able to use it just for the cameras without being monitored. What a rip off, I should have gone with Ring in the first place. If I could give it less that one star I would.
I have been a customer for years with this company but for the last 2 months nothing but problems with customer service, calling, being transferred all over the place, wrong information given, taking my money unauthorized. I canceled my services July 3 2023. In August they withdrew the monthly fee out of my bank account. I called them about it. Said the money will be put back in our bank account blocked the ability to take money out for payment . End of August sent me a paper bill. I called them. Gave me another cancellation number and said that my money will be returned in 10 days. Didnt get but got another paper bill for August and September along with a pass due notice. On the phone again. DO NOT USE ADT. DO NOT USE ADT. I lost my job and house and have to move back in with my parents. Instead of ADT understanding, they're deciding to charge me a cancelation fee since I was in a 36 month contract, which I completed 18 months of. I explained that I'm not canceling due to anything other than me losing my job and not having a place of my own to transfer service. They didn't care AT ALL. I had ADT home security installed on my home over 2 and a half years ago. The sales team seemed friendly, but I was lied to concerning a $100 Gift Card incentive and a lack of customer service support with false alarms.The sales team was quite pushy about us getting security with in the month we moved in. Being a new home owner, I caved in to the pressure and was unaware there were extra hidden charges on top of the already expensive service. I have been a customer with ADT for a number of years. I moved in 2022 and installed an ATT security system in my new home. At the time I signed a contract with a verbal promise that a contract would ensure that my rate would stay the same. After about 6 to 8 moths I had a security camera go out and asked to have someone come out to fix it. I was told that i would need to trouble shoot it with a phone call. Absolutely disgusting company and ***** practices. We have their brand new smoke detectors installed, paid for parts and labor and month later we had a faulty Fire Alarm! FD and police came thankfully nothing was happening- it was a false alarm from their crappy equipment! Their solution: pay $200 for the tech to come right away or wait a week for an appointment and take the smoke alarm out!
