ADT has been nothing but a nightmare from the beginning. We originally had ******** and didn't have issues with them, but ten ADT bought them out. Of course.... the "old" equipment wouldn't work- which meant we had to sign a entire new contract. So because ADT bought ******** (nothing to do with me) I had to sign an entirely new contract because the equipment wouldn't work. This was 2 ******* ago. We just sold our house in August. If I could leave 1 star I would. Customer service is a joke. I was a customer for 18 years till now. Called to cancel and they said because I signed a contract I would owe over $1000. I said fine cancel it now. Their salesman tried to give me all kinds of deals to keep me even though I said I just wanted to cancel. They are just a ripoff. They get you in a contract then charge exorbitent fee to get out of it. I am a senior on a fixed budget and they still say I gotta pay the fee upfront which is not gonna happen. I just bought a house in June. With my mortgage company, they partnered with safe haven to get a deal through ADT. I cant believe I spent over $500 on equipment on top of their promotional money they gave us. My services started when I signed a contract. I didnt realize the contract was for 36 months as I just hurried and sign the documents since I was getting an extra $250 towards equipment if I signed up that day. **************** Cancel fees, c*** equipment. This is 2023, you can now grab a RING (or other competitors) on amazon and self install at your home with no contracts. ****** of a company, c*** customer service, rude staff (When you can get them on the phone). They honestly did nothing, i watched things from the app, I did all the monitoring, they never sent police when the alarm went off. Dated company who still has "staff" with headsets who just call you while an intruder stabs you, asking if you want to call the police lol.... read more

This is a terrible company. I have been trying to cancel service for two days. The reps are either, rude, not helpful, or leave you on hold forever to avoid dealing with you. Interesting that they are doing this the day before billing to rob you of another payment and won't let you cancel anything online (service or auto pay). I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. And I notice after reading through the ******** threads that you then delete the complaint comments.

Absolute worst company I have ever did business with. Contract is 3 years. You would know that if they told you. They dont. After contract is up you have to call and cancel. Guess what takes 30 days to cancel. They get another months bill out of you doing that. Stay far far far away from this company find another security company this company is all about taking your money and thats it.

I am really disappointed in this company they failed to help me and understand my perspective i called over a year ago to cancel my services since i bought a new home and i actually had adt at my new home and they failed to cancel so a month ago i called to see why i was still being charged since i also cancelled the services on my new home and i paid the cancellation and i came to find out they were still charging my bank account for a property i no longer owned and no longer have access to the customer service person that ... read more

If I have the option to give a negative 5 star, I definitely will. Horrible customer service. I tried to cancel the service after three years. They kept transferring me to the accounting department and holding the lines for hours up to the point I need to hang up. After four or five tries and spent almost 5 hours, a rep finally answered the call. Actually I believed he was the same guy he took transferred my call hours ago. Our security system was transferred to ADT, and we've had nothing but issues. We have tried for almost 2 months to get someone on the phone that can assist but IF we get through, they claim there is nothing they can do. Finally got through yesterday and after being on the phone for an hour, they're claiming that the previous company's equipment is garbage, and they want US to come out of pocket and pay for all of what's needed.
