I am so upset with ADT, I have been with them for 13 going on 14 years and the ladies' I spoke to today were more interested in arguing with me then servicing my system.!!!!!! They both insisted that I just get up on my awning and change the battery on my siren and it will be just fine! Then they will send me a something in the mail an I should pull the face off my wall unit an use the instructions online to replace the battery pack!!! WTF is wrong with you people? My elderly brother's home came with a 36 month contract. The battery went dead within 6 months and ADT refused to replace it unless he paid for it as well as for a service person to come out and install it. He turned the system off months ago since it wasn't operational. In essence, he has paid nearly $1300 for 6 months of service. Despite numerous attempts to close my ADT account this year due to the alarm system malfunctioning and dissatisfaction with monitoring services, I was met with aggressive tactics from trained ADT representatives who repeatedly tried to talk me out of terminating services. The high volume of complaints supports this common practice. ADT is the worst, most frustrating business I have had to deal with in the last 5 years. We had an alarm system installed during covid when our small business was closed, and the system never worked properly. We had technicians out to service the system on 5 different occasions and the issues were never resolved. We finally gave up and decided to terminate the service. It is a harassment. Their practices are very questionable. I got the service through a third party called safehaven and cancelled the service immediately within 3 days which they call as RoR . That means they are not providing me any service and cancelled that effective the first day. But still they kept me charging month after after for 3 months. Weve had ADT for over 6 years and there has been numerous issues. The most recent incident is moving and trying to cancel services. We called a month in advance and told them we were moving which is what is required. However, 5 months later we are still getting charged every single month and making numerous calls to get it cancelled but yet theres no record of us calling. I am the director for the food bank in ********** **. We are building a new building, moving to a temporary location, for 6-8 months. ADT would not suspend our service temporarily for these months of rebuild without a huge cancellation fee. We are a nonprofit, they did not give us any discount which we never asked for. We only asked to suspend service temporarily. We will not use them in the future and cannot recommend them for home for business.
If I could leave 0 stars I would. I have been trying to cancel service with ADT after moving and not able to use the service at my current location. I've been tossed around from department to department, disconnected from there call centers 5 times and placed on hold over an 1 hour each time. Even asking for a supervisor, they place me on hold for over an hour. I would've re-subscribed with them after moving to a new location, but after the treatment I've received, I will not likely ever use this company again.
I have been trying to have ADT remove their equipment so I can have another company install their equipment for weeks. I have asked to speak to a supervisor. They always claim they do not have the ability to do that, but that they can submit a request, and that the request will take 48 hours, but NOBODY ever calls me! ADT has NO customer service, unless you're saying transferring their customers a gazillion times, making their customers repeat the SAME info EVERY...TIME...you are transferred, customer service.
