The absolute worst security company, if they install your system and it doesn't work, you have to pay the full balance of your 3 year contract! Even if it is their fault and they tried to come fix the same issue at your house 3 times. Would not recommend if you want the people who watch over your house to actually communicate with each other to resolve your issues. Called them to get maintenance done on 2 new windows. I don't subscribe to their services anymore so they refused to help me. They would help me if I subscribed to a 3 year contract (costing me over $1000). I spoke to 4 people... even a manager. I was willing to pay for the service (which probably would have taken them 10 minutes). But they refused to help me! The manager was so curt and rude! I would rate them a F!
Bait and Switch: While the BBB seems to give Defenders an A+ rating, the posted reviews and my own personal experience clearly do NOT JUSTIFY this rating. While I do believe that the alarm system that was installed, ultimately, is very good, the process of getting the system installed clearly was not. After six months of service with ADT we called to cancel. When we moved to our new house we got an alarm service with cameras installed on our home. It took ADT well over three months to actually get our system installed properly. The first tech that came out was more interested in his cellphone and conveniently did not have the cameras that we requested. Please read Reviews of Defender Security Company/ADT. I failed to do my research and I so regret it. I didn’t realize when I signed up that I was not dealing with ADT directly. I talked to a Rep on 2/27 and had the system installed on 2/29. Should have done more research. I was 1st told my service would be $27.99, NOPE that is if you have a line land (who does anymore). Defenders Protect your home. This is a scam, never finished installing system. Keypad is lying on table, no cameras, etc., yet they call at least once a day to harrass me for final payment.
Have had service with ADT Security over 30 years, will never have ADT again. Started calling in January 2019 to cancel and was advised was under contract until March 2020 asked why under contract was told that when called in March 2018 bill was dropped down & that was ahy explained agent told be was going to extend contract. They misled me about the pricing. They said installation was included. The never quoted a price for the equipment. It was $800 for the minimum package.
Let's start with the initial call. Yeah,they fail to tell you that your card will be charged right then an their. They fail to tell you that you must pay a $4.95 s&h for the Visa gift card. On 2/26/20, The installer was at my house for 9½ hours. He did not have the proper equipment I requested. In addition, his tools died. So he had to use ours.
