Adt has made promises that they are not following through with. They were supposed to provide security cameras with our system that was installed. They told us we did not need a door bell but came out and said we have to go buy one ourselves. The person from adt who came out to install it did it wrong and adt wanted to charge us for them to come and fix their mistake. If I could give this a 0 I would. We got ADT in 2017 for a 2 year contract. About a year into the contract we moved and, because we were under contract, we had to do a "move of address" with ADT. when we believed the contract was up, we decided to cancel because we found cheaper, better alternatives. We asked the ADT representative whether we had any outstanding fees, they assured us that we didn't. Now we get a bill in the mail for 850 dollars! They ran my credit when I told them not to. They said they wouldnt but they did. will be 7 days let's see if I get my refund I canceled the install right after I got off phone. These people lie and cant be trusted. I usually dont leave reviews but this has to be told to help other people. I have hard inquiry for nothing . Thing is I never gave them no social. The so called manager said he was just going to check with my name date of birth if I had outstanding bill with adt. Was a lie. Stay away!
Do not get ADT ! When I tired to cancel I found out it was really a 3 year contract. And they do not let you cancel for anything they a a horrible company u have to pay 75% of what is left on your contract can you believe that! READ THE FINE PRINT! And when you call for service be ready to sit on hold FOREVER. The BBB should really do something about them.
horrible customer service, having manager bill make accusations is not what you would expect. Do not go with ADT. Very Shady, not helpful, They do not know their business.
These folks installed my burglar alarm. They left painting repair to me. On March 12, 2020, ADT promised I would receive $100 Visa card with 3-7 business days. I called them when it didnt come, and they said the installer, Defenders, would send it, and I should contact them. I couldnt get a phone number on line, so called back ADT. They wouldnt answer my call.
I told the people I spoke with if this involves running my credit I don't want to discuss any further I will call you back. I cannot have my credit ran because I am closing on a house and I was instructed not to do so by lender. They said we do not have to we have another way that does not involve pulling credit. ADT has hired a third party to go door to door selling their security systems. This third party was full of empty promises and discussing contract negotiations as if they had the power to fulfill them. After an initial agreement had been met they would then turn around and give that new agreement to ADT who had no intention of agreeing to the conversation had with the customer. As a military family, ADT has disappointed us. We gave them first page of military order, which is all they should need to cancel service and termination fee however, they want full orders. I will not give them that because rest of the orders has sensitive information not pertinent to ADT. Secondly, we have been told different things everytime we either call or email and lack of training or consistency, is not my fault as the customer. I will never be giving ADT my business again.
