DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I have been a customer for over 20 years. I closed my account in December, but they continued to bill me for January - March after my account was closed. Take to customer service 3 times, all 3 times over a half hour on the phone. today got a collection agency letter. Talking to customer service now, they are telling me it was entered as a relocation. Good luck trying to cancel your service with this company, they kept me on hold for hours on end, with several agents hanging up on me upon learning that I'm cancelling. Shady business to say the least. They should be sued for the way they treat their customers.

This is the worst security Co. Service is so hard to get charges are hidden. They lie and jack up prices whenever they can . I have only had my system that they made me buy for 5 months and already not working.

When they came to my house I told them exactly what I wanted the system to do for me and they told me the camera would take care of that. They don't tell you about the 3 year contract you have to sign until after they have drilled holes in your house and installed the system. Then it takes a while to realize that the camera does nothing you want it to do. After 26 years of being with Protection1, I decided to cancel the service. I was asked to include in the written request a reason and that follows: Minimal security function since remodeling of my home. Unable to get a proper evaluation of my security needs for a system redesign and update. Inconsistent responses every time I called. One upgrade package was approved, twice by email, but it was never acted on. On several calls, always with a different supervisor, the calls were dropped after I was placed on a long hold. Hour + late response times w/ alarms followed by rude operators. 3 price increases without noticed. I was informed that they are allowed to increase pricing without disclosure and it was up to the customer to catch it and deny the increase. Had a negative balance after closing account and had to request my refund a month later- they wouldn't have sent it without my request.

ADT has ALWAYS had deceptive recruiting and billing practices. Their contract is PAGES long and I read every word of it before I signed. I made their reps hand write on the contract that I would NOT be charged for early termination before "two years". They wrote it for me and signed it. I countersigned. I termed before two years and, of course, they tried to bill me an early termination fee. I produced the contract AND my lawyer and they backed down. They did not read their own contract. Total scam. Very rude. Unprofessional. Called to quote and they asked me to verify my info by providing social and home address. My reason to call was to get quotation on a 27.99 per month deal that i got in a pamphlet to my house. They charged 99 on my card. Scam.
