If I could give a 0 I would. When we were first talking to these people we were told since money was tight they would lift the $99 installation fee so we would be able to get protected. We then were charged and over drafted our account. I was told things would be free during the first installation that I am now being charged for they put 4 things in my home that they said they were just giving us. My system has not worked more than it has worked. Customer service is horrible. They refuse to release me from my contract and their only solution is to send a service tech to my home. This business has been terrible since day one. They make all their money from making the experience so bad that customers have to "buy out" their contracts at high rates.
We needed a security system and our local cable company who we were going through was no longer offering the service. ADT had a good reputation. They had a promotion so we called them. We ended up with a representative who up sold us over and again. We ended up paying more for less than what we had before! We also told him that we were thinking about moving. Well, let's start - these people were great to start out with, guy went over everything and the system worked. I then PAID it off completely because I moved. I got charged once - called them, said it would be refunded and they would cancel Got charged 2nd month - oh, I'm sorry we didn't cancel Now I get to dispute charges with them every month because they won't cancel it. STAY AWAY!!!!
I am in the United States Military. I had my system installed over one year ago by there party. I was necer told that I was under a three year contract by defender. ADT bought out threr contract. I am being deployed overseas. They would not let me out of contact. I had to pay $700.00 Thats bullcrap.
I lost both of my businesses due to the coronavirus in my state in the governor Putting in shelter in place I called ADT which we have been with for several years I was informed that I would have to pay off my contract I only have six months left I know have no income because I have no business I had the Internet turned off at the business and now Adt can’t even monitor my business and they still want me to pay off a contract we have had problems from the very beginning with ADT I would not recommend them to anyone for home ... read more
You will REGRET your purchase, guaranteed !! For your own good SHOP AROUND and be an informed consumer.! ADT is the worst company ever in regards to customer service. I think perhaps if they actually read their own reviews the leadership would question their own product. ADT might work quite well in the large business sector. I wish I had done more research before getting involved with this company. I didn't realize I wasn't involved with ADT directly. This company sent a tech out, sets you up, signs the paperwork and says you're done. Then, two months later, they call me repeatedly to tell me about another $400 I owe. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY! ADT is the worst company I have ever had the displeasure to do business with. I have tried for over 3 years to cancel my account. Every time I have called they tell my something different. Finally I asked what day my contract ended, as I was finally told that i have to call on the last day of the contract to cancel my account without fees.
