This doesn't sound like anything new, but again bordering on harassment. Within a couple hours of closing on a new house and during the move in process, an ADT representative showed up trying to check out my house and sell me a security package. I turned him down and eventually got him to leave. I'm very disappointed how ADT has Handel my cancellation. During this pandemic I was one of many that loss my job and was forced to move back with my father two states over. I stayed in an apartment and had adt services from my previous address. I'm had to leave my apartment because I could no longer afford rent as I have absolutely no income. ADT is the absolute worst company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. They had a really good reputation and they sent me a promotional flyer, so I thought that they would be a good way to secure my new home. Boy, was I wrong. I called the sales number in the flyer to ask questions about the offer and try to find out if it was legitimate, and they bullied me into giving them all my information and setting up an installation appointment. Large corporation makes people feel like they are being scammed. My husband requested a quote online and ADT sales rep contacted us yesterday. We were quoted a monthly fee under $30 and were offered an equipment credit that, we were told, would cover the equipment. A technician came in the same day and installed a control panel. Then we were told that the panel that he just installed is not covered by the plan we were offered initially, and we will need to pay twice as much with 3-year contract. I have reached out to ADT multiple times to satisfy the aggreemnent for my service with them. Lets start with less than adequet customer service being transfered multiple times. The initial installation was set up.. When the installer showed up it turned into a sales call and i was charged $300 more.. Then the installer doesn't have tools to do the job. I called to try to cancel my service. I told the person 10 times I wanted to cancel and they kept trying to offer me things to keep me on. I told the represenative one final time to cancel my service otherwise I am going to contact my credit card and put a halt to any payments. The represantive continued to try to get me to keep my service and wouldn't cancel it. I will never use ADT again.

ADT is harassing my senior parents and falsely claiming they are under a contract they never agreed to. My parents had service many years ago with a company called Guardian. They had service with them for over 7 years until the alarm system suddenly no longer worked. After trying to contact Guardian about the problem they were told their service (which was long out of contract) was sold to ADT without their knowledge. I don't understand how the BBB can give a rating of A+ to this business that is nothing but crooks and ********. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and they notified the local ADT affiliate - SafeHaven in Massachusetts and this office essentially flipped off the BBB. They ignored the simple - DOCUMENTED - fact that their agents had lied to me about first having contracted with them to instal their system and equipment in my new home, and then ADT gave the response to BBB that I the customer was required to go through on... read more
