I have been an ADT customer for many years. I recently upgrade my old system late last November 2020. Ever since I have had nothing but trouble with this system with detector batteries going out and waking the family up at night with chirping detectors. I already changed batteries in one Smoke/CO detector a couple of weeks ago, batteries supplied by ADT. They went out again on 25 March 21. Also had the hallway Smoke /CO chirping two days ago. ADT personnel have been no help and are borderline rude on the phone. Someone needs... read more

We sincerely apologize for the frustrations endured. After battery changes, please allow 24-48 hours for battery change to take effect. We have reviewed the event history & have determined no further issues with smokes.

We were an ADT customer 20 plus years and decided to upgrade to their Home Smart System. The entire experience was a mess from the start. Within the week had them uninstall equipment because of false expectations set on equipment capabilities, incorrect quote, along with poor installation/training and follow-up. The people they sent out were not even ADT employees. All the equipment was removed and cancelled service entirely as went with their competitor. Upon review of the account, ADT did waive the contract termination charges incurred. However, Mr. and Mrs.******** have been advised that the equipment installment balance is valid & is ineligible for waiver/refund.

This must be the worst security company out there. Installed junk that when it decides to send in alarms even though we had it in no alarm mode, a number of times, they act like their junk equipment is my fault and I should pay for someone to come look at it. One year into the 3 year contract the monthly rate went up.... yet I can't get out early even if they take the junk back. Today I cancelled service and said I would pay the remaining few months now to make them just go away. Oh, so now they want to make things right and... read more

I have been trying to cancel my elderly parent's contract after they contacted the company well within 30 days of their move. On top of that, ADT sent them a bill for the following quarter. We've called several times, received various confirmation numbers and called again today to hear that there was a system "glitch." Likely story. I understand that ADT doesn't want to lose customers, especially now that there are many other ways for consumers to protect their homes. I just tried to cancel a home security contract with ADT. I called a customer number, and was give a number for what I supposed was accounts. It was for a Walmart/ADT promotion that let me sign on. I didn't. I was cut off. I tried a second time, hit "O", and got somebody who wanted an account number. I suggested that I give him a home address because I have no idea where the account number is. 3 days is a ridiculously small amount of time to cancel a contract. Yes, my fault I didn't read everything. But 3 days before you are locked into a 3 year contract is absurd. Just makes it seem like they DO NOT stand by their product. If they did, then they wouldn't force you into a 3 year contract without an enormous penalty. I'm not sure why they are ripping off customers like this. It's a well known brand name and reputable companies would not need these kinds of tactics to keep happy customers. I made the grave decision to move my service to new home. It was initially installed by one of their authorized dealers. I was given misinformation (lied to) by 3 of their agents, on what I was to do about equipment installed. have it removed and moved or leave it. Almost cost me a lot of money by leaving it! Very long story short. I spent 8+ hours on the phone. Finally got system installed in new house. They won't disconnect service from previous house! ADT placed an email invite into my iPhone calendar as an advertisement in such a manner that I am unable to delete or remove it. I called ADT and requested they remove it and they refused. I spent one hour on a three-way call with Verizon and Apple support before we finally figured out how to remove the advertisement. Even with the solution the advertisement as an actually removed from my phone, it is just hidden from my view. I had ADT for 8 years. I had no operating security system since November of 2020. I had 3 scheduled appointments, all of which the last one was kept. Technician showed up 1 hour after their office closed at 5PM. They would reschedule my appointments and not let me know they had. I had many phone calls about my service, but they never answered their phones. When I did get someone, I was told I could change the battery myself.
