I have been an ADT customer for almost 20 years. Recently I called to have a few wires relocated that were running under carpet, so we could do some remodeling. Through the process I was up-sold on doing an upgrade to the Command system, which would make those components in need of rewiring work via wireless connection. Absurd. We were customers for nearly 10 years at one address. We upgraded our system last fall but then sold our home last month. We cancelled our services and moved and a week or two later received a bill for $1300 for early cancellation. Sure, probably in fine print somewhere, but I called and spoke to a customer service rep to advise them we were moving and never did this penalty come up in that conversation. As a single mother I almost felt ployed into agreeing to use this service. I seriously wish I wasn't the nice one that opened the door. I didn't realize a 3 year contract was required with a 100% due now termination fee. I can understand a year but 3 years? Been with ADT for over 5 years, Good luck trying to cancel your supposed contract, ADT renews its own contract for you when they call and ask if you need other services from ADT or want to keep the current pricing. I have been paying the same amount for years and they stated I couldn't cancel the contract before its over (I didn't even know there was a contract) Operators on the phone word it to you so you think your getting a good deal, If you don't accept hey say your rate will be increased. Where to begin! We sold our house in December. NO ONE told us we could transfer our contract to the new homeowners... who signed up as soon as they moved in. I did, however, discuss in detail MULTIPLE times that we were temporarily moving to my moms while our house is being built. awful. they obviously already have an awful rating. wonder why. customer service all the way!!!! I have had no problems with CPI. Have used ADT since 2016. First of all they sold us a $7k system that has failures alllllll the time. THEN they want to charge you $50 to come out and fix THEIR problem. To the point where...even after a deceased husband and I'm doing it alone with 3 kids (want to feel secure right?) it was such a pain in the butt that I didn't even bother anymore to try to get fixed. I have been trying to call and cancel my ADT blue service that I haven't even installed into my house. Every time I call they transfer me to another department or hang up on me. I haven't even set up my account or installed the hardware. All I want is to send back my equipment and cancel my service with ADT as I do not need it. You would think that a business built on helping people with security would care about their customers.

Blue by ADT has processed the customer's cancellation, as requested. We have provided a label to return the equipment.
Tried to cancel our service. First, they did not want to verify with the usual address, phone number SS# etc, instead they want to send you a letter with your password on it for "security purposes". This is the most ridiculous excuse I've ever heard. Mail is not the most secure way of sending a secure password. This is a ploy to get you to be subscribed for more days than you need. ADT- please do better. Your service will definitely not get recommended to anyone and we will never do business with you ever again!

As a security company, ADT requires authorized cancellation requests in order to close the account. Ms. ******** was unable to verify the account's verbal password; which is required to verbally cancel accounts.
