I was a customer for many years but service got worse as time went on. I decided to make a change so I cancelled service and was sent a 30 day notice for cancellation. The following week after the 30 days, my new security service came on sight and made changes and added equipment. A week after the cancellation a Tyco tech shows up ready to remove the equipment with no prior notice of their intentions. In 2018 I signed a 3 year contract. $44.99/month for 36 months. I If I cancelled the contract I would owe them over $1000. They, however, are apparently allowed (in the very fine print) to raise your rate every year which is mind boggling since you sign a contract for a certain amount for a set time period. My $44.99/month was over $55. After talking to a supervisor and sending 2 emails, they have refunded a whole $8.39. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from ADT. I was sold a security system by one of ADT's authorized dealers, which turned out to be a total scam company. They tricked me into signing a 3 year contract, and now that its after the 3 day cancellation period they don't care. They didn't even install the equipment correctly. We have been with ADT for at least 10 years. Recently we realized our service has not been working. We reached out to ADT, and a tech came out to check the system. He stated it was not working due to no dial tone in our phone system and needed to call the phone company. A gentleman from the phone company came out and stated there was nothing wrong, there is a dial tone. Reached back out to ADT and they were supposed to call us back regarding an appt. I have had services with ADT for 6 years. I am moving and do not want to take it with me. They are charging me a $475 cancellation fee. I guess my loyalty has meant nothing to them. When I ask for a copy of the contract with the cancellation fee, they cannot provide a copy. The way they have presented this situation is unprofessional and feels slimy. I will highly not recommend ADT.

I wish I found a way to leave an appropriate Star Rating of ZERO Stars, but one will suffice. These folks are nothing short of criminal THEIVES, please save your monies or choose ANY other security company if at all needed. Sold my home called the company after my contract expired to terminate, of course was badgered into not canceling, but the house was sold. I am moving from the Knoxville area to Rockwood and was called on by an ADT sales person when I was at my new location. I listened to the pitch and felt it would be a good idea to get the security service since I would be here off and on until I was full moved in. I signed up for the service which involved me signing a 3 year agreement. I was sold some "extras" to go with the system like extra sensors and a key fob. I was told my contract was two years. I called tonight to see when it the two years was up it was up July 2021 I called and they told me it was expires July 2022 I said you're wrong they told me that my contract was 2 Years. Both from the person I talk to on the phone and the person that installed it I said that's perfect.
