We have had ADT since 2009. We moved to a rental temporarily while we had our house built in 2019. ADT convinced us to try Lifeshield, part of ADT which apparently is now Blue by ADT. Since July of 2019 the system has not worked properly. We were told it would be a 1 year contract but apparently is was a 3 year contract. Never trust ADT sales reps, they lied to us! Worst service ever. Changed Alarm service provider and the new provider said the ADT installer had "crossed the wires" of our system when the panel was updated. He took it off the wall, cut the wires- NO call from ADT. Called ADT billing to request refund since the system was faulty. After 15 years with them, they had no record of the panel upgrade and tried to transfer my call to tech services b/c "someone needs to verify that system was there". Really? Amazing. Don't use ADT. I want to file a complaint against ADT in Okeechobee, Florida. I moved. Alerted ADT about the move. Told them to pick up their equipment at the place I moved from as I did not need it anymore. Since the move I have received letters, emails completely not taking into account of my wishes.. I have called, mailed and they are still harassing me. This has been going on for 8 months now. I am done.
ADT should be shut down. They are such a rip off they lie there equipment is junk. I have had issues with adt from the very first day they installed my cameras. My house has been vandalized 5 times with adt security cameras installed but they never work. I have spent the last year trying to get them to fix this I have had a dozen if not more technicians come to my house. After cancelling service as I was moving, I had to make 3 additional calls (and was on hold each time for extensive length of time) because adt kept billing me an additional monthly fee of $50.00. Adt then turned my account over to a collection agency. At that time, I paid the $50 even though I did not owe it because I was so totally disgusted with adt and did not want to further deal with them in any way. Also, some adt reps are in need of training in how to speak politely to their valued customers.
They don't care about their customers hurricane whipped my house out and is still asking for a cancellation fee like the hurricane was my fault I had a camera with this company and never worked wanted to charge me a 25 fee to send someone out this is a rip off company
On November 10, 2021, I called the sales department of ADT to get the cost of a replacement key fob because mine had broken. I spoke to someone by the name of "**" As he was checking, he said if they had a replacement key fob, it would be pricier because my system was "old." I knew where we were headed! After some time, ** told me that my current key fob had been "discontinued" because my system was "old." I have a Simon XT system, and it is 10 years old. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE!!! ********* MONEY-HUNGRY COMPANY!!! I am leaving 1 star because I am required too leave something on this website but they don't even deserve that! ADT is not a good company to use. I moved from New Mexico to Florida in June of 2020. I called ADT to cancel and I was told I still had one year left on my contract and if I cancelled I would have to pay the full amount left on the contract as penalty. The fire alarm system keeps "going off" for the last 3 days. The technician came out and tried to fix it the first day. Now the fire alarm only goes off 3 times a day instead of every 2 minutes. They must be short of staff. The appointment has been extended 2 times. The operator tried to help by giving me the local manager's phone number. However, no calls were returned.
