Worst company I have ever dealt with. I am a renter so told the first sales rep I only wanted to purchase the equipment. I did not want to sign a contract because we could move in a year. I was quoted a price and I said "let me think about it overnight and call you back tomorrow". I called back the next day and only got the sales reps voice mail. ADT buyer beware! ADT has a version of the ring doorbell ( so they claimed) we were moving and the guy convinced my husband that it would be a month to month charge. Well, we have not been able to set the thing up, IT DOESN'T WORK we have been trying to set it up for a month now, because we both work we are not able to stay on the -hone 24/7 trying to get assistance. ***PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING ADT*** In my opinion, ADT has turned to be a horrible service and waste of money. They will not respond to an alarm until after 60 seconds. Once they respond and call police it could be 2 minutes or more before action is taken. This could give an intruder plenty of time to cause physical damage or death and leave with plenty of time. We have with ADT for 20+yrs. They did a reasonable services in the past. Lately we experienced extremely bad services, and the treatment. We have a 2wk+ vacation, and 1000 miles away from home. Since day 1 after flight landed, we receive a call from ADT that security alarm triggered. Policed was noticed, went to our home site, and found no sign of burglary. I absolutely hate this company. They gouge on prices, especially installation. The service is absolute garbage, particularly the cell connection. But the worst is the customer service. The people are kind, but the system is designed for maximum pain when trying to cancel service. It took me 3 months of calling to finally get service cancelled after moving. My bill is due on the 12th. On the 18th their automated system called and the very rude service representative said the due date didn't matter and they wanted the whole $111 even though only $55 was 6 days past due and the other past due was not due until the next month on the 12th. My elderly parents were loyal customers to ADT for upwards of 20 years with basic home security alarm system and fire detection with multiple zone monitors. Never late with a bill payment and we were somehow getting charged at the seemingly high rate of ~$60/month for the most basic service. When it was time to upgrade our ten year old smoke detectors my mother was struggling with customer service; long holds and disconnects. ADT took advantage of me one week after my husband died. They do not clarify that you have to keep paying if you are no longer on the property! Do not get this service. I am not paying for the months I no longer use this service. Can the Better Business Bureau help me with my complaint?
ADT is a bad company. I have been a client for over 10 years and had them secure my Colorado home when I moved there. After 10 years, we went under contract to sell our home. I called in May 2021 and spoke to Karen and Ivy to provide a 30 day notice to cancel my account. In June 2021, I called again as I noticed my account wasn't closed and the representative, Steven, said someone called ADT on my behalf and accepted a new ADT offer.
