This system was installed by a previous owner and I don't know why it was ever allowed in the first place. We live in an area with a minimal signal so every night for a year it was beeping because it couldn't connect to whatever signal it needed (usually around 2 AM). You can't cancel without paying the full amount regardless of the reason, so because the previous owners of this house decided to install this we're now on the hook for a 3-year contract. If I could give them 0 stars I would. Do not purchase a service from this company. They literally do not let you cancel service. They intentionally transfer you back and forth in the hopes that you give up. I was on the phone for 3 hours and spoke with 8 different people trying to get my service canceled. Do not use adt security.
This company has dishonored there contract, my technician “MARSHALL “ was negligent in his installation of my door lock.
I've had nothing but problems with ADT but I'm locked in and can't easily quit. The equipment has never worked properly and no matter how many technicians they send, they can never seem to fix the problem. My cameras rarely all work at once, alarms have falsely gone off at 3:30 am telling me I had an emergency when I didn't, and another alarm went off on Christmas Day for an hour with no way to shut it down. I actively dislike ADT and wish I never used their service.
NEVER GET THIS SERVICE! We had an installer come and install the equipment, until he got to the cameras. The only cameras offered were ones that plug into the wall INSIDE my house. They were going to drill holes in my house and plug the cameras into my interior wall plugs. We said NO. We can't have our homes insulation integrity compromised as we live in a cold climate, amongst the truly ridiculous idea that we would give up our interior plugs to exterior cameras when there is a plethora of wireless cameras on the market. I was sold a defective akarm/camera system and Adt refuses to give me a full refund. Adt was advised 2 days upon installation of the "Poor" system, but refused to help me. I'm very disappointed as well as ashamed to know a Co. supposely so reputable is operating in AL with 0 concerned about customer's satisfaction. I believe AL law states I have 72 hours to opt out of a service, if it's not honored, I'm to get it free. Adt salesman was informed within 48 hours via email. adt had a prommotion in december in 2021 for $300 dollars it was called refer a friend i did and they did not give it to me
I cancelled my service with ADT in July 2021 and was told it takes 30 days to cancel and I would have to pay another full month. What could I do? I agreed to pay another full month. After two months I received a forwarded bill from my previous address stating I owed for two more months. I called ADT and was told there was no record of a cancellation and they would not cancel my service until the bill was paid in full. I have been a customer of Protection one for the past 23 year. For the past few years, I have had ongoing issues with my alarm system and have had to make numerous calls for the same issue. This last time is what broke the camel’s back and I decided to write this. I have been paying for a service that has not been operational. They keep scheduling service calls sending technicians that are a bunch of lying incompetent individuals and the so called supervisors are not that much better.
