When I renewed my contract the only change that was highlighted was my cost per month. I find out during a tech visit for something outside of my control, that I'm being charged now. They can't do anything about it because it's part of my new contract that I never got. I updated over the phone with a representative and nothing was said about new charges. Terrible customer care service. Long hold times. After being with Brinks since 2001 then acquired by ADT in 2010, our equipment suddenly quit working due to them no longer maintaining the older equipment. We requested to cancel service and the rep assured we would not be charged in the future. Should have gotten her name. We built a house in Commerce City, CO in late 2018, and had ADT installed on this home. After 9 months, my husband took a job in Las Vegas, NV, so we sold the house and moved. We had ADT installed on our home in Las Vegas and moved the service contract. We had a few issues with the cameras and wi-fi so had ADT several technicians to our Las Vegas home. Established ADT services in Oct 2019 in Commerce City Colorado. Moved from Commerce City Colorado to Las Vegas NV Sept 05, 2019. Had service transferred from Colorado to Las Vegas. Zero Rating!!! I am unable to submit my comment as zero then I would. Unfortunately, I have to give a start to write my review. I have been a customer for 16+ years. It was impossible to speak with a representative. I was given the run a run to cancel my services with ADT. Finally, today I spoke with a customer service who told me, since I am canceling my services, I will pay a hefty fine for breaking a contract. Worse customer service ever!! The sales guy came to my house and was promising the world. All I wanted was a video doorbell camera/window sensors/front camera. He promised me the bill would be under $60 and he would thrown in the second camera for the backyard/doorbell camera for free. ADT is the worst company ever they are very unprofessional. And they don’t help you or assist you what so ever. They say ADT Blue is self installation it is NOT they make it completely impossible for people to to install the it and now I have not utilized the security what so ever. I had a stroke the salesman fast talked me. even though I have a voucher for $200 they refuse to honor it.
We have had service with ADT for three years now and have not been impressed with any of their equipment, installation, or service. All of their products are easily hacked. Their Ring camera is battery-operated and not hardwired into a power source. The battery frequently drains, especially in the cold months, and takes forever to recharge. While it's recharging, you do not have any security through the camera system. On top of that, if the WiFi goes out, the camera has no internal storage and will not record video.
