I was under the impression that I was dealing with ADT. However, I was deceived to be in contract with a dealer company, Safe Haven Security Systems. ADT is the worse company to do business with! I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years with ADT, but they are now one of worse companies to do business with and I cannot wait until my contract is over to cancel. Back in January, one of my sensors was having an issue and I reached out to ADT to rectify the situation. Business practices are very deceptive. They send you one contract which you sign prior to installation with quotes. When the installer comes he has a different contract with much higher costs . You call ADT and they assure you that the first quote is correct but need you to initial for the tech so he can proceed. We have had our home monitored for the past 10 years by ADT. We have had no issues with the services they provided but recently decided to change security companies. We were no longer under contract with ADT. Believe me, it will take an act of Congress to cancel your account. There is no local contact number regarding accounts, so you have to call a 1 (800) number. ADT advised me that I had to upgrade my service because the system is going to be 5G. I contacted them five times and received two emails from them confirming that I would have to pay $600 for the upgrade. I was irritated that they expected me to pay because their equipment would no longer work. So I changed services. I purchased new equipment from SimpliSafe. That cost me about $500. Purchased a new construction home and was told I would receive services through SafeHaven/ADT. Signed a contract in Aug 2020 and got the services set up. Within the first 3-4 months, I constantly had issues with incorrect billing and faulty equipment. I initially contacted SafeHaven who told me they were just a third-party authorized reseller for ADT and I needed to contact ADT with my concerns. I have three cameras at my home. One is in front, one on the side, and one on the back porch. The problem happened on the same day, 2/17/22. At 8:58 am, I tried to get into my back gate, but I had locked it, so I waved at the camera and left. At 7:13 pm, my trash can was sitting in the front next to my steps. At 8:19 pm, my trash can was gone. Between the hours of 7:14 pm to 8:18 pm, the front camera and the back camera did not detect any movement. Still being billed though they were cancelled in November, called in December again after money taken from my account, got billed again and again in February and though are refusing to waive their fees for service of a system that hasn't been active since November. I want them to remove the charges for January and February as they were servicing and monitoring nothing. The house sold the end of October and we moved out of state on November 12th.
I only wish that I would have read the reviews about ADT, I thought there were only a few people who were lied to as I was, however it seems like an epidemic of completely horrible business practices and out right lies. I will complete my contract and run like hell and I recommend anyone considering ADT to do the same...
