ADT is crooks ! We had two business next to each other that split up. ADT was notified of the happenings . Refused to move our equipment to our side because it would be to difficult. The business next to us was to take over account that didn’t happen ADT opened a new account for them with OUR equipment. Then sends us a bill. They won’t give us our equipment because the other business opened a new account. A grievance was filed against the salesman back in December. ADT has been billing us for service for over a year and we have not been connected. The service person came out twice to replace a battery and connect our system to adt but could not connect. We canceled adt and told them we no longer wanted the plan. We are continuing to get billed after we called and told them to cancel because the system is not working and we do do not want an upgrade. I have been using ADT for 14 years in five different locations and was never late paying them. Sometimes it was two different houses at the same time like for 5 years. When I had to move last year to another state because of my age they did not let me get out of a contract I had after paying for two years. I am a brand new customer to ADT and I regret it already. I haven’t even had my system a month and when I signed up they told me that I could not rewind my live feed but that I would have clips that would be triggered by my preferences. They never informed me that you have a quota of how many clips and after so many you can’t get anymore until the next month unless you pay for more. They charge you for more clips if you want more. I have been a customer for over 3 years with the basic chimes on windows and two doors at a cost of $56.99. I called them almost a year ago to add a doorbell camera at a charge of $12.48 a month. When the technician came to my APARTMENT he informed that he couldn't install it because it has to be hard wired in and its not compatible with apartments. When I called to cancel my account (because I no longer have a telephone line, so the service wasn't communicating), the first rep at ADT took all my information, asked me a number of questions, and then after 15 minutes said I had to call USAA (my insurance company) to cancel ADT. I said no - that my service was supplied by ADT, not USAA, and I wanted to cancel it effective immediately. After a couple times repeating that, the rep transferred me to another department. I contracted with ADT to install and monitor their installed system. The installation was never conpleted correctly with multiple detectors for windows and doors not operating. Repeated attempts for them to correct the problems did not fix the situation. After paying for many months, without proper service, I gave up and switched to another company, Secure Tech. I then stopped paying the bill. They have hounded me eversince and today said they would turn it over to a collection agency. I would like to have this situation end... read more

In the beginning, A salesman came to my house and the most important thing to me was the Cost per Month since I told him I was a 100% Disabled Veteran and I had a strict Budget. I told him that I could NOT afford more than $100 per month and I said this 5-6 times and he understood? My first bill was $127 and has never been much less than that.
