Zero stars! ADT has the worst customer service. I have been trying to cancel my account after many attempts to get my alarm system correct. The auto renew your contracts. After waiting a tear to cancel I have spent hours on the phone to get a person to cancel, then they transfer you and you go back into a hold cue again. I have sent letters of complaint to ADT customer relations with no response. It's sad that their holding cue speaks of customer service when it's the exact reason I am canceling. Do not use them!!!

I'm a first-time homeowner and cannot believe the incompetence of ADT. I don't know where these folks get their employees from, but wow are they unprofessional and useless. I signed a contract with a salesman who booked everything through his ipad at my house. He sets up the first appointment for the technician to install the service a few days later. Adt lied to me about an upgrade. They said I would not be in another contract. For a month now,I have spent over 12 hours on customer service with Adt, because, once realizing I was going to be in a contract, I canceled within 4 hours of installation. The contract side I had 72 hours. They are still charging me for service I do not have

ADT is engaged in a clearly fraudulent program to make cancelling their service almost impossible. After more than 10 years as a customer, I decided to cancel my account because of a case of grossly negligent service from ADT. I see that other reviewers have posted experiences similar to mine when trying to cancel an account. ADT attempts to make account cancellation impossibly difficult. A salesman came to my home shortly after I moved to sell me a security system. I informed him that I had an ADT system at my former residence and that I would like to transfer my service and equipment if possible. I still had an active contract there. He told me that was not a problem and he would set it up and I would owe nothing since I was transferring my service. Long story short ... Signed a legal ADT contract back on December 11, 2021 ... That contract agreement specified that I'd receive a $100 Visa Debt Card as part of me sighing with ADT ... The sales agent said I'd receive the Visa Debt card in about two (2) weeks ... I've tried numerous times after that two (2) week period to get that $100 Visa Debt Card ... Sorry for the long review, for existing and potential clients I think it's an informative read. I have mixed feelings and results as an ADT customer. I've been a client for 10+ years and initially my home was on a dial up (telephone) connection with them for years. As technology moved on I stopped the Telco service, and ADT upgraded my base system panel to support their wireless cell based system. They're criminals and need to be shut down. ADT advertises everywhere that they have a cancellation policy of 6 months. With all of the problems I've had I finally tried to cancel per their policy and was told I have to fulfill 2 conditions to get out of the contract penalty-free: 1. there needs to have been at least 3 separate visits by their techs to attempt to fix the same issue and 2. their local branch needs to call me to cancel without further fees. Purchased my first home as a single mother in 2019. I needed to ensure my teens were okay while I was away from the house and what better way then having a reputable company for security services. In 2020 I signed a two year contract with ADT and was ensured that if I moved anywhere in the United States I would only pay $10 for them to come uninstall and reinstall my equipment into my new home.
