The security system is horrible! Thank God no one tried ro break into my house, because I will not have been protected. My cameras are constantly not working

If I could give no stars I would. Like many other reviews this is regarding their inability to provide good service but more than willing to take the money for it. Poor customer service, inadequate security service and the cost is outrageous. I do NOT recommend, there are many other options that are less expensive and have few issues, AND a higher resolution rate. I'm so incredibly disappointed in the items and service. In completing my due diligence in acquiring home security monitoring. I purposely asked the ADT representative before agreeing to service about any contract. Two different representatives stated "no" and added I can cancel at any time; my only responsibility would be for the equipment should I cancel after the installation. THEY DO NOT DIVULGE UPON VERBALLY AGREEING TO SERVICE THAT YOU ARE AGREEING TO A 6-YEAR CONTRACT. Our experience mimics that of many other reviews. We subscribed through a door to door sales appeal July 1, 2020. In March 2021, we put our house on the market to move to another state and reached out to ADT to cancel the service after receiving a very aggressive email from Safe Streets (the door to door sales company) advising that we would have to pay $1000+ to fulfill the rest of our contract. This business is the absolutely worst predatory tactics I have ever seen . Not only is it predatory , it’s illegal ! They sent a representative into my business in New Canaan CT , spoke with one of my employees and signed MY Business Into a 3 year contract for a service I never asked for , didn’t call for nor did I even inquire about it . Without my consent illegally , when I found out the next week , they are refusing to cancel the service without me paying a fee of over 1500.00$ . I would stay away from this company if you care about your business. They are not a security company. I used them for my business. I had 3 three major issues with them 1) my alarm got set off in the middle of the night, while we where trying to sort out what happened they said their security person stopped by and things looked fine. I had my employees go down and in-fact my door was open. when i called back to see what their security person did while they where there, they told me he never came., they only have one person wo... read more
ADT takes advantage of vulnerable people using scare tactics, convincing them to sign 36 month contracts for services they cannot afford. I would not recommend anyone doing business with ADT.
I have repeatedly called & basically begged ADT to stop taking money out of my account every month. My ADT services haven't worked for years! The last time I called & talked to a snooty girl who assured me this had been taken care of & even gave me a confirmation number. I guess we will see if I get charged again. Do not do business with these thieves!
I contacted ADT to have security cameras installed at my sons house. They told me no up front charge & fee would be $45 a month. They went to house, but no cameras were installed. I called, where upon they returned & told my son unable to do any of the installation requested & attempted to sell him further equipment. I called & cancelled service informing them I would dispute any charges on my credit card that were over $16 and inform BBB of their unethical practices.
