I have been with ADT 9 years, I have moved since Feb and need to cancel service but many calls have been made and cancellation still not done as of now. Every call made with the same promise with customer service that cancel will be done and will no more charges. As of today, account still active and charges still ongoing. I asked for basic service and when the installers arrived, I ended with a way higher quote. I refused to have it and and I thought it was agreed. Little did I know I was going to be bamboozled into and agreement with a third party. I had 2 attempted burglaries and NOT BECAUSE the ADT system notified me. There is an area in the house I place 2 old RING cameras and they are the ones that notified me. I have been paying $69 for equipment and $20 for a monthly service that works 1 week and doesnt work for the other week. I have spent hours on the phone with customer service representatives that take no responsibility in helping you get your issue resolved. I feel like their home security business is a scam. They sell you cheap equipment that fails constantly. You have to fight to try to get a technician to solve your issue. And when you get a technician, it is after a week from you call. I called ADT to get a lost key fob replaced. The automatic network phone process took most of the morning - it was hard to an appropriate choice for replacing equipment. Finally, I reached someone who kindly explained the process and the cost to replace the key fob and to have the technician "connect" it the system and remove the link of the lost key fob.The next morning, I received a call from ADT that I needed to sign an agreement covering the service. I thought I had a motion sensor problem and paid for a new one with a credit card. When the Tech came to check out the system, I did not have a bad sensor. The sensor had the wrong switch settings. When correct settings solved the problem, I did not need the new sensor and was told that the purchase price for the new one would be credited back to my card. I would give a 0 but that is not a option. The customer service representative both retaining customer and equipment are horrible. I called to get a door **** camera which I could have just ordered on Amazon and ended up with equipment and double payments. When I realized, cause on auto pay which dishonest companies love, it was too late. We spoke with ************************* in June 2021 as our sales rep. ** sold us an ADT package for our business. We had our first service charge on 6/26/21 the same day that they did the installation number 1 of 3. The final installation occurred on 8/25/21 by this time we had incurred $98.04 in service charges before we were able to view cameras and use the service fully. Adt door sensor is malfunctioning and they want to charge $60 extra for a service tech to come and see why their faulty sensor is giving problems. Then additional money for replacing their faulty sensors. The sensor is not even two years old. If they supply faulty equipment that nobody touches then why is it malfunctioning and the consumer have to pay for a service tech? ADT is committing ********** and theft and should be investigated IMMEDIATELY. I plan to report them to every entity possible! I was a customer with ADT for over 19 years.
