ADT is a scam company. The build contracts with home builders to get you locked in for services and they make it seem as though this is the best company for security service and it is not. There is no customer service experience here at all. When I signed up the experience with the sales man was **** poor performance. He was money hungry and lied about the services provided. They flat out stole 1,100$ from me and refused to return the funds after first agreeing to return them. Soleless, greedy, money hungry, and deplorable. I am now broke and in this current economy it is horrible! I have been robbed by my security company!
I've been trying for months now to cancel my home account for cctv and I keep getting the run around. The reason for my cancelation is due to my internet not being able to handle the upload speed. My upload speed is 0.2MPS I was told at the time of installation I had 30 days (not 3) to see how things went and after 3 weeks I called in to cancel service. After 8 plus years with ADT, I cant get out of a contract! I am relocating from ******* to **************. I am very disappointed that ADT is so heartless and inconsiderate. I will continue paying for the service at this rental home for the next 14 months, while living in **. Fair warning do not take out ADT to protect your home because they wont protect your pocket! I think it is obvious looking at the reviews here that you DO NOT want to use ADT. There are so many other systems out there. Im just going to share my experience and suggestion to avoid ADT and find other services. I signed a 3 year contract with ADT. I paid extra for the doorbell video camera. It was the main part of the service that I personally wanted so I could see when packages were delivered. ADT IS A SCAM. I bought a home with ADT Security in place and was not notified when they transferred the service to out name that we were signing a 3 year contract and we could not cancel.Yes, I signed the contract but it was on an Ipad and the salesperson did not disclose the details of the contract. Now I want to cancel and they want me to pay 75% of the fees from 3 years of service. OUTRAGOUS!!
Very poor customer service. Have not had a fully working sysytem since installed. It has been less then 30 days. On hold for 390 mins then cut off no onehas called back.
I was contacted by an ADT representative who convinced me, after much debate, to install an ADT security system in my home. On the same day after the installation, I called to cancel my account and return the devices installed, but got a reply only 4 days later from a representative who told me that it was too late for me to cancel the deal and that now I was bound by a 24 month contract and had to pay $65 / month on top of the $129 I had paid upon acceptance of the installation. Was sent a text message early June, 2022, stating that, because I was a long-term client, I would qualify for a FREE outdoor camera and an upgraded 5G panel. When the rep arrived, she proceeded to tell me what my new service fees would be for the FREE equipment, I told her I had no desire to pay them any more $$, so there was no FREE equipment. It was basically a scheme to try to Upsell me equipment I really dont need, for years of additional monthly costs. Dont be fooled.
