Bought a new house that already had the equipment so we agreed to a 3 year contract with them. At installation he had to replace the motherboard and when asked if we’d be charged extra he said no. Then after installation he handed us the device to sign. Evidently we were signing that we would pay $500 for the equipment even though we were never told that, and by the time I noticed they took $500 from my account it was too late to cancel. DO NOT use this service, between spending a ton of extra money to have equipment and batteries replaced because it would cost $50 each time to have someone come out and service I found the person helping me had things wrong and I didn't need to repurchase certain equipment. I was then out of town when my alarm went off and police were dispatched, when I called ADT back to get a status update on the situation I was told they had no record of my account so I had to call the police department myself to get feedback.Additionally... read more
ADT has terrible customer service. I was a customer for over 14 years and when I decided to cancel, the company made it extremely difficult to do so. It took several phone calls and I spoke to over 8 different representatives before my service was finally cancelled. When I would call to cancel the representatives would always say they either had to transfer the call to a different department or they needed to put me on a brief hold. Hard to rate there is no star below 1. This is the worst customer service! I have been with ********************** for 6 years, I just want to cancel.. I get the run around, then recordings and have spent hours on hold just to cancel! I do not recommend ADT.
I should absolutely have read my contract in more detail before signing. The contract indicates that if I move (sell the home) and don't transfer services, I can be charged 75% of the remaining contract fee. I sold my home this month and still had another two years on the contract, resulting in a cancellation fee of nearly $1,000. I won't do business with ADT again. Worst alarm service EVER! After tens years of **** poor customer as well as technical and field service then harassment both electronically or via mail, I finally got rid of this over priced out dated methodological dinosaur of an alarm company. Systems break and ADT charges $60 for them to come out a fix their broken system.
ADT sales reps and customer service reps lie. We were told that even if we did not renew our contract we would still be able to use the security hardware we purchased. 14 days after our 3 year contract ended none of our hardware works. Very sketchy company and I will tell as many people as I can that ADT is awful.
I paid for the full level system ($3000) with sensors, cameras, lights, everything. The system has been installed for less than 60 days and the Control Panel is completely dead. After spending 2 hours on the phone with ADT the earliest they can come to fix my system is 8 days aways. A $3000 security system that is less than 2 months old and I have to wait for 8 days to get it fixed. I have PTSD from a home invasion and will have to drive 40 minute to sleep at a family members house every single day until the alarm system is ... read more
