I've had ADT for over 20 years. Last year I sold my house and called to cancel my service. They told me I was still obligated to a contract and to cancel pay it off. I told them I still wanted to keep their service when I moved but didn't have a place and was staying with a friend, They wanted to send me a free system, i explained to them it's not my house and not needed. I have been with ADT for seven years. Once I purchase the system their customer service was rude to me, their contractor forged my name on one of the contracts and I was stuck in the contract if I did not want to pay for the huge cancellation fee. I stuck with them and had no problem until they changed my service options without notifying me. Like all the other reviews will tell you, ADT is terrible! Their customer service will keep you on hold for hours in hopes you will hang up. Their sales team will lie about their equipment and their installation techs will change the contracts that you agree to without you knowing and they will NOT honor their 6 month guarantee. You are better off having no security system if your only choice is to use ADT because they are worse then the criminals that might break in your home. Be careful with ADT Security Monitoring! I just cancelled their service recently. But they will charge you AN EXTRA MONTH of service fee (on the day you called for cancelling) just for them to be ready to stop your service!In addition, they will force you to call their number for cancellation and place you on hold for half an hour before they take your case!What a ridiculous business practice! No more ADT for me!
Tried to cancel my service three times over last few months and Im just left on hold and they just keep adding more charges to my ****. Ive been with them for over 20 years this is not ok!
I just moved to a new home. Since moving, i have had SIX ADT team members visit my house completely unannounced. One time a man was parked in my driveway waiting for me to get home. When i asked him, he said he had been waiting 45 minutes. Terrifying! Each time they come, i ask them to please stop soliciting my home and take me off their list. I have been attempting to cancel my Blue by ADT service via multiple calls now. On my first call, they stated that they could not cancel my service unless I provided them with a reason, with my new address, and whether I own or rent. I asked them what they intended to do with this information. They said they wanted to provide me information about options to transfer or upgrade my service. Wow,It's hard to believe a trusted security company can be so untrustworthy!My first installer did a hurry up install after a upsale to top of the line equipment and left bare wires from the battery that caused the panel to overheat.Tech 2 was a noshow!Tech 3 put in a new battery and noticed a wire connection on the communicator would not tighten up.And was hopeful it wouldn't cause any problems. One of the worst companies Ive ever worked with! They signed me up for a three year contract when they said it was two. Half the time I couldnt even connect to my cameras and had to use my blink cameras to check on my house. It NEVER worked when we traveled internationally. I call to cancel the service because I moved and no longer want this garbage service and after waiting on hold for an HOUR they say they cant do it and transfer me. This repeated four times!!!
