I have been with ADT since 2004.I never had a problem until I moved back in DECEMBER 2021. I had a technician come out to my new home back in January 2022 and I have had nothing but problems with the security system ever since. In July of 2022 a technician came out to my home to resolve the problem. I ordered security system from Adt and I was lied to consistently from the sales people to the tech to the management. I canceled within my three days I asked him to send me proof they never did after they told me they would they have it on record unless they delete everything of course then I cancel . this company is a scam theyll never let you get out of it even after the three days. I have a bad experience with ADT, this old men his name is ******************************* I need everyone to know about his name because he is a big lye!. So, he sale me a services, lied about the price, make me sign a contract where I supposed to pay $42.44 and installation for the securities cameras for free, didn't give me enough information.. We had the a security system installed. We the Tech was installing the front doorbell we asked him, aren't you going to hardwire that? He replied, that he doesn't do that. I have called ADT 20 times. I was on hold for over an hour on one call, over half hour on other calls before I hung up and called again. If you do get through they ask what you need, then you either get disconnected, they say they will transfer you and all you get is back to the main menu.Anybody reading this I recommend a new company called Vivint. I have had two incidents with ADT and I do not recommend nor will I ever get their service again. Back in 2021 I moved into a new home having prior ADT service. They did not move the equipment and told me it would be free of charge but that was a lie. They autodrafted $1300 out of my account, while I was a single mother in the ************* Army and it took me over a month to get that money back. After 22 years of original service, under NO contract, I called to cancel due to moving.I am getting jockied around by various CSR's and spending over an hour on the phone trying to cancel. It's like they won't let me! There is no information to contact management or someone with power to make decisions, no way to cancel through online account (only upgrades, transfer service, or pay options), and really bad service!!! Long story-short, ADT wasnt pleasant about transferring services from my old residence to my new residence. So, i decided to try to cancel services. They informed me i had to pay off my equipment, which i agreed. Then informed me that i had to pay a termination fee of $2,000, which i argued against. I informed them i was on military orders, and they responded with "PCS Orders" dont fall under the Soldiers Act. **************** is terrible. Only 3 days to get get out of 3 year contract. That speaks to their confidence in their business. They know people would cancel if you gave them 30 days to realize how bad the customer service is. Plan to be on hold at least 30 minutes every time you call and very possibly be disconnected once someone answers and have to start all over again.
ADT should be considered a fraud company. They came to my home disarmed my existing equipment without me knowing what they were doing. Then gave me a quote of ********* to do a security system. Tried to use a scare tactic to have me purchase the system. I had to ask him 3 times to get off my property! I finally told him the third warning was it he was now considered a trespasser.
