I have been with ADT since before 2014. I was usually happy with them. Except for this year on 3/1/22 when I had equipment put in my house, by technician by the name of *****. On 2/21/22 I spoke to Taren a sales rep, as I wanted to add a camera outside and upgraded motion detector inside the house. She quoted me a price of $857.22 which I could pay over 5 yrs if I chose. Same issue as ******... been a customer for over 15 years. We had multiple problems the last 3 years of service. Tried to cancel service twice (both times took over an hour.) I've been on the phone for over an hour on my 3rd attempt and keep getting transferred. Update, I am still on hold, going on 90 minutes and multiple people promising not to put me back in the queue-then I go right back to the queue, I'm in tears from frustration. Do not get locked into a contract with them it wasnt the initial contract that was the problem it was upgrading it. I had no problem with paying for services rendered the problem is with locking yourself into a contract verbally and not getting copies of what you signed only a copy of how the update/ install went listing that you said yes and not all you agreed to. I've been trying to discontinue service since April. I signed an statement to stop auto withdrawal but they still manage to withdraw the money from my account. Other ppl have complained about having so much trouble with ADT. They keep telling me to call but no on ever answers. I think it's time to get a lawyer. They don't even deserve one star!!!
ADT has become so unworthy of a buisness they cannot resolve problems they will not answer calls it is impossible anymore to get direct help from them
Refused reimbursement of fee charged by LAPD of $367.00 for false alarm due to technician who initially installed system and forgot to enter my main code but entered all my others. Since I am first time user and initial tech person was fairly new, they should reimburse the charge. Also in my initial contact with their solicitor I was not told permit had to be on file before Instalation. Tech did not check for permit before installing or ask about it. I have been with ADT for two years and upgraded my system 3 times. I have always recommended this company to people because I have always had success in talking with customer service and technicians who come out to work on my house. Recently I upgraded (my biggest upgrade yet) and signed a five year contract. Not 4 months into my contract they have increased the monthly rates with no notification to me beforehand. I've been paying ADT Security Service for over 6 years they never upgraded my system..I changed Security service and they said I have a verbal contract in 2020 and now I owe over ****** be careful with this company. They will rip you off.
THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM!! When the tech showed up he stated: "We don't do anything about windows. We only put it on doors." When I asked: "So if someone breaks a window what are we supposed to do?"
